   Vintana’s food is pure joy for the palate. We enjoyed an incredible meal to celebrate my mother’s 90th birthday. We knew we’d be paying a lot of money - over $300 for the four of us. And accompanying this grand price, we expected just a little better service. It took too long for our appetizer and wine to be served. We wondered if we’d been forgotten. The meal was excellent, but when it came time to order dessert we waited over 30 minutes for our waiter to come back. When he returned, he brought a special cake for my mother, but had neglected to take the order for dessert for the rest of us. So she sat and waited while our dessert was prepared so she could eat hers with us. We thought they should have taken our dessert order and brought them all at the same time. Our dessert finally came, and it was heavenly, but we really wanted coffee with it. They’d run out and had to brew some more. By the time we got our coffee, we’d finished our dessert. We rarely go to Vintana because it’s so pricey, but my mother loved and appreciated her meal and the evening out that we gave her.

   Excellent food and service! I’d been there for lunch before and loved it so decided to go for dinner. The dinner menu had many different offerings but was just as outstanding.

   Pleasantly surprised!! CRG restaurants are a bit banal but I thought for being in Escondido that this is a winner of a spot in an otherwise very dull dining area. Atmosphere, service and food all great, would go back.

   Attended on 12/17/2024. Attention to detail and Incredible service made this a great night. On Open Table, I listed what package I wanted and asked for a table near a window in the notes field and when I checked in they stated my requests and was working on them. Service was spectacular, The wait staff took their time ensuring our party had an understand of each item on the menu. The only bummer is when the Manager or someone like that stopped a busser right in our view and began to go over some issue with him. In my mind you do that in the kitchen and not in view of customers. Overall, the date night menu is a great value, oh, Avoid the Au Gratin potatoes. They made it into a loaf and it was cool. Au Gratin should have a sauce and a crispy top layer. Someone took a twist on it and no one wanted to tell them it was not a good idea. You now know.

   We cannot recommend Vintana. We had to wait for our table even though we had a reservation. We had to ask for our food, it arrived warm but on a hot plate. The garlic mash has no garlic and was lumpy (sandbagged). We had to ask for dessert to go and then waited again for 15 mins. Choices of holidays drinks were sad.

   We enjoy your restaurant and are frequent patrons. However, when making a 5:00 reservations, we should be seated promptly. You know in advance how many people are coming in at 5:00 and there is no reason to make them wait. In addition, we wanted a table by the window of which there were many- and we were told there were no servers in to wait on those tables so that was not an option. Very disappointed in this.

   Great ambiance in the patio and very good food (what you would expect at a Cohen restaurant). Unfortunately, the service was very slow. It was during lunch time, and it took more than an hour to get our appetizers, and entrees arrived after 2pm despite sitting around 12.15pm. The server was apologetic about it and very professional. We weren't given any reason for this so not sure if this was an exceptional situation or it's usually like this during lunch...

    The srrvice was extremely slow. Took 1/2 hour to get a soda. Had to ask employees passing by. The meals were served to the wrong members of our party. Dropped and left without asking. We had to pass our entrees around to get it right. My meal was partially cold as if it sat in the kitchen a while. We rarely saw our server, Isaac. We were obviously celebrating my sister's birthday. She ordered dessert then they brought a birthday dessert giving her two desserts. Really? It took 3 hours to eat lunch. I am generous tipper. My reaction to the slow service was to cut my tip in half (yes, I left one). I put a note on the check about the slow service. Did not expect this from Ventanas!!!
