   I have always had great experiences at True Food at Seaholm, but this was definitely an off night for them. First of all, it was FREEZING in the restaurant. Almost every diner had his or her coat on, it was so cold. I get that the architecture of the building makes it difficult to heat and cool the restaurant, but when your diners are uncomfortable, it's probably time to get creative and do something about it. Second, the bathrooms were filthy (as in, stuff smeared on the wall and the trash can) and had no toilet paper or paper towels. Third, the restaurant was not full, yet they grouped all of the tables together in tight little mass, to where we could hear each other's conversations and the wait staff had to scoot through the tight spaces-- why? Fourth, our waitress seemed like she was in such a hurry, even though the restaurant was only about 1/3 full and there were plenty of other wait staff. In the past, the wait staff had such a calming, relaxed demeanor-- casual but friendly and attentive. But our waitress just seemed rushed. Maybe this was just a bad night for some reason, but it felt very different than True Food experiences of the past.

   Hadn’t been here in several years, and I can’t fathom why. It was excellent: get the edamame dumplings! Great happy hour prices. Meatloaf with mushroom gravy, great.

   It was delicious and so happy I didn’t have to consume seed oils while enjoying dinner! I had the American cheeseburger and brown sugar espresso. 10/10!

   Not a great experience. I've been to TFK before but definitely hit a bad night this time (February 14). Server pretty much disappeared after taking the order. A Whisky Sour I ordered was a disaster: more like a lemon juice cleanse and apparently lacking in whisky or bitters. It had to be doctored up with simple syrup to make it at all drinkable. A very simple order for 4 took 40 minutes to arrive. Squash Casserole "entree" was more like an appetizer size and a side of supposedly cheesy mashed potatoes was not cheesy at all. Someone who was not the original server brought the food on the table but nobody checked in to see how we were getting on. The price was very steep for what we got, and I left hungry. One bright spot: the hostess (young, lots of piercings) was really charming and friendly.

   What a great choice for our supper. Noah, our waiter, helped me navigate the menu according to my Low FODMAP diet. Turns out he’s degreed in nutrition. Yummy salmon & rice did the trick. Also: free parking :-)

   Honestly, just not a good experience. Food was less than warm, small portions, restaurant was not ready to be open despite being open for over 1 hour - lacking batter for pancakes, no spice for spiced flavored coffee, and things just took a bit longer than they should have. I have been here before for lunch and dinner, and it was quite a different experience - in a good way.

    My husband and I really enjoyed our experience here! We ordered Guacamole, a Teriyaki bowl, and Chopped Salad. It was DELICIOUS! The service and pacing was perfect as well. We will be back!
