   Service was really good. Food Sunday lunch was excellent. Staff 2 waitresses sport fid catch your name were very attentive and friendly. Would definitely recommend.

   Went for a Sunday roast. Good quality food, great service and wonderful ambiance on the terrace. Only thing that would have increased my score would be a bit more meat - one slice of beef felt a bit stingy.

   We were a party of three, and all ordered the roast pork Sunday lunch. Our meals were served incredibly quickly, even arriving before our wine. Two of the three meals were fine, but on the third one the pork meat was extremely tough and virtually inedible - we did receive a discount on our bill to compensate for this. Dessert was very nice. We all agreed that given the reputation of this restaurant we really expected outstanding food, whereas what we were served was just ‘okay’, so overall we were quite disappointed and will not be rushing back.

   Visited twice over the weekend, just for 1 drink then breakfast the following day. Both times I thought the service was excellent, in what is also a lovely spot by the river. The breakfast was lovely and washed down with a great bloody mary!

   Beautiful venue and decoration. It was a gorgeous sunny day and wish I was outside but being inside was equally as lovely. The never had plenty of choices and additional specials. They also catered for children. I’d highly recommend and will return.

   3rd visit for us this year, always good to be fair. Todays full English breakfast was terrible, I asked for no mushrooms it came with a huge one right on top of everything else, eggs came un seasoned and no salt and pepper on the table, bacon and sausage were cold I assume Sat on the plate a while before the eggs came as they were hot. Sausage was undercooked a lot of fat poured out after I cut into it. Black pudding was hard and inedible totally left that bit. Tried to get hold have staff but they were far too busy to reply to me asking for attention. Great service and I do mean great in the past! My food today was terrible. Guy taking the payments just kind of shrugged, I paid and left. Daughter’s ice cream croissant was awesome! Great idea!

    A Wednesday evening at 6.30 and The Star Inn in The City was busy, we’d booked ahead, though local, to celebrate 50 years to the day since our first date. Lovely welcome and our waitress Lumi was so very nice, attentive and helpful. The meals which we chose were all delicious and really tasty we each had a Large Yorkshire pudding starters with extremely tasty vegetarian vegetable based gravy. My wife then had the 5 bean Ragu which she said was excellent, I had the pan fried bass with muscles which was fantastic and we shared a side order of baby carrots and green beans. The available wine choices were very good we enjoyed a starter of a gloss of Prosecco each then my wife had a glass of Pinot Grigio whilst I had a glass of Viognier. The desert list was a challenge, so much to choose from and we were already well fed. We settled on sharing the very tasty rhubarb and almond tart followed by coffees. An extremely enjoyable and memorable evening out.
