Description
The Plumed Horse Restaurant has been a beacon of South Bay fine dining since 1952. Led by Executive Chef Peter Armellino, it is a destination for those travelling to visit, yet retains its landmark status as a place to relax, unwind, enjoy, and indulge for locals. Michelin has agreed, awarding Chef Peter a star for 15 consecutive years.Chef's tasting menu, composed of multiple courses featuring items from local farms and fishermen, is the highlight. A la carte is offered in select seatings on certain evenings.Wear whatever makes you comfortable, but you are here for a special night out, dressing up is fun! While not required, suits, sportcoats and classy attire will generally get you the best seats in the house.We are an "adult restaurant." If you are bringing in younger patrons, we want to make it a great experience for every guest. We ask for no tablet or cell-phone entertainment that might disturb others. This is your night to make memories with each other as a family.

Enjoy Chef Armellino’s quintessentially California cuisine multi-course tasting menu. The Plumed Horse has been awarded a coveted Michelin Star consecutively each year since 2009. The tasting menu will delight your senses with a specially curated, elegantly balanced menu bound to leave a lasting impression. It is the best of what we offer. This is an 8-course experience priced at $225 per guest. Caviar service and Japanese Wagyu beef, when available, are available for a supplement AQ. In lieu of a tip or gratuity, a 23% service charge will be applied to all purchases.

On Sunday, April 13th, join us for our second round of informality! Leave the suit at home, wear your shorts, and enjoy LOTS of Champagne with our reserve caviar, but more importantly, with Fried Chicken! Salads to start, sides with the chicken, and dessert to follow, Plumed Horse style! If you were here last year for the dinner and returning for round doux, you are part of the club and will be given an initiation t-shirt. Please note, the Fried Chicken menu will be the ONLY menu we will be serving this evening. No tasting menu or pre-fixe will be available. We cannot accommodate allergies, restrictions or preferences on this night. In lieu of tip or gratuity, a 22% service charge will be applied to all purchases.

The food was barely acceptable. The 1st course was good, the souffle was way too greasy. We ordered the duck breast & ribeye. Both too salt.

The Plumed Horse stands out as one of the finest dining experiences I have had. The ambience was immaculate. The staff was knowledgeable, unobtrusive, and efficient. Bar manager Chris Ward is a true mixologist and his cocktails are without peer, were he to author a book it would have a seat next to Liquid Intelligence in my home library. Though I did not choose to pair my meal with wine, the wit and presence of Sommelier Jeffrey Perisho still added a touch of panache to the evening. Chef Armellino is a culinary genius not only in the preparation of the individual dishes but also the order in which they are presented, each dish surpassing the one that came before. I shall look back on my evening at the Plumed Horse fondly for the rest of my days.

We had the 4-course tasting menu, and it was fantastic! The meal left us full and satisfied. The cocktails—Project G, Cosmopolitan, and Calm Seas—were phenomenal, with smooth textures, great mouthfeel, and complex flavors. The service was exceptional and truly elevated the experience! We enjoyed the Kona Kanpachi Crudo, Lobster Ravioli with Black Truffle, Basque Cheesecake, and Paris-Brest. Already looking forward to our next visit to The Plumed Horse!

Unbelievable, such a wonderful experience for us… we celebrated our son’s 19th birthday and Jeffrey was absolutely AMAZING - from the beginning to the end! We were so lucky to have Chef’s Table, enjoyed the atmosphere and the symphony that is Chef Peter and Chef de Cuisine Luis’ kitchen. Everything IMPECCABLE… THANK YOU! Wouldn’t go back. No dish really made me want more. It was decent but not worth the $1000 price tag. Service wasn’t great food wasn’t that tasty left feeling VERY underwhelmed and disappointed. Protege was way better.

The Plumed Horse is a lovely experience for any special occasion. We came here to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The service was spectacular. The food was beautifully presented and perfectly prepared. The sommelier provided excellent wine pairings for our courses. We hope to come back for our next important event.

Second visit to the Plumed Horse and we were impressed. The 8 course tasting service was phenomenal! Small dishes with sweet and savory flavors that danced around in our mouths. Excellent service from all the staff and such culinary talent from the chef. We were celebrating a belated Valentines Day and judging by the full dining room, a lot of couples had the same idea. We look forward to another fantastic dining experience at the Plumed Horse.
