The Plumed Horse Restaurant has been a beacon of South Bay fine dining since 1952. Led by Executive Chef Peter Armellino, it is a destination for those travelling to visit, yet retains its landmark status as a place to relax, unwind, enjoy, and indulge for locals. Michelin has agreed, awarding Chef Peter a star for 15 consecutive years.

Chef's tasting menu, composed of multiple courses featuring items from local farms and fishermen, is the highlight. A la carte is offered in select seatings on certain evenings.

Wear whatever makes you comfortable, but you are here for a special night out, dressing up is fun! While not required, suits, sportcoats and classy attire will generally get you the best seats in the house.

We are an "adult restaurant." If you are bringing in younger patrons, we want to make it a great experience for every guest. We ask for no tablet or cell-phone entertainment that might disturb others. This is your night to make memories with each other as a family.

On Thursday, March 6th, The Plumed Horse is excided to welcome Peter Michael Winery. Winemaker Robert Fiore and Chef Peter Armellino will be presenting a multi-course menu, showcasing both the change in season and the best of the best wines from Peter Michael Winery. The event will begin at 7:00 PM and start with a wine and passed canapes reception, with dinner beginning at 7:45 PM. This every exclusive evening is available for 24 guests, and will be priced at $495 per guest. In lieu of a tip or gratuity, a 22% service charge will be added to all purchases, no further tip is expected. We look forward to having you!

Enjoy Chef Armellino’s quintessentially California cuisine multi-course tasting menu. The Plumed Horse has been awarded a coveted Michelin Star consecutively each year since 2009. The tasting menu will delight your senses with a specially curated, elegantly balanced menu bound to leave a lasting impression. It is the best of what we offer. This is an 8-course experience priced at $225 per guest. Caviar service and Japanese Wagyu beef, when available, are available for a supplement AQ. Unbelievable, such a wonderful experience for us… we celebrated our son’s 19th birthday and Jeffrey was absolutely AMAZING - from the beginning to the end! We were so lucky to have Chef’s Table, enjoyed the atmosphere and the symphony that is Chef Peter and Chef de Cuisine Luis’ kitchen. Everything IMPECCABLE… THANK YOU! Wouldn’t go back. No dish really made me want more. It was decent but not worth the $1000 price tag. Service wasn’t great food wasn’t that tasty left feeling VERY underwhelmed and disappointed. Protege was way better.

The Plumed Horse is a lovely experience for any special occasion. We came here to celebrate our 20th anniversary. The service was spectacular. The food was beautifully presented and perfectly prepared. The sommelier provided excellent wine pairings for our courses. We hope to come back for our next important event.

Second visit to the Plumed Horse and we were impressed. The 8 course tasting service was phenomenal! Small dishes with sweet and savory flavors that danced around in our mouths. Excellent service from all the staff and such culinary talent from the chef. We were celebrating a belated Valentines Day and judging by the full dining room, a lot of couples had the same idea. We look forward to another fantastic dining experience at the Plumed Horse.

My husband and I went here for the Valentine’s Indulgence Experience menu on Saturday 2/15/25, and it was anything but. The mishaps started from the moment we walked in. We gave our name and reservation time (5 min early) to the gentleman behind the podium. He found our reservation, but seemed confused, and left without saying anything else. Standing there, wondering what was going on, a lady came from the back, and asked us for our name, then told someone to take us to the table. After passing down a couple hallways, and given no explanation of the different rooms we were passing, other than the wine room, we were seated. The gentleman pouring us water asked if we had been helped yet, which we awkwardly said yes to, because how else would we have gotten seated at a Michelin place? Another person came around to offer a glass of champagne and to find out if we would like the wine paring with dinner. We declined the wine pairing, but weren’t offered any other beverages (alcoholic or non) with our meal. The food was just meh. Some items lacked flavor, and others were chewy (scallop and duck). None of it felt indulgent at all. It was very basic. Definitely not worth the $998 price tag for two people who were just drinking water. Oh and the decor was extremely dated. The color changing lights overhead cheapened the space, and some of the ceiling lights were burnt out. I also noticed that because of the lighting design, my husband and his food were lit nicely, while me and my food were in the dark. I know this seems trivial, but again, it really cheapened the indulgence experience. Speaking of…whomever was in charge of the music needed some help with the playlist. The 90’s rap/love songs felt very out of place. There was zero indulgence here.

Valentine’s Day 2025, my wife and I did the prix fixe menu and wine pairings. The food was excellent but the service seemed lacking for a Michelin starred restaurant. Our servers missed a wine pairing and completely forgot the dessert courses, bring the bill before I reminded them about the dessert. We also received the duck savory courses prior to the pasta, out of order. Lastly the tables felt too close together, more like a casual restaurant than fine dining. I don’t anticipate coming back soon.

Food was good but service was below expectations and certainly not Michelin standard. The dining room was very crowded and noisy on a Saturday night. Upon arrival, the server didn’t ask about dietary restrictions so we ended up getting food that we had to return. Everyone was rushing and we were getting run into on the hallway all the time.

From start to finish our experience at Plumed Horse was nothing short of phenomenal. Every dish was delightfully evocative, both taste and presentation. The service was also incredible. A perfect balance of professionalism and warmth. Everyone at Plumed Horse clearly takes great pride and joy in their work and it shows!
