Just around the corner from Bath's Royal Crescent, The Marlborough Tavern combines the atmosphere of a local pub with the food quality you’d expect of a top restaurant. Two AA rosettes, and inclusions in The Michelin Guide and Good Food Guide bear testimony to the quality of both food and service. It’s no wonder it's won the Bath Gastropub of the Year title more than any competitors.

Food is essentially, though not slavishly, English in character and takes advantage of locally sourced produce wherever possible. Its food reputation is matched by their service - always friendly and attentive without being intrusive, and there's an extensive wine list and selection of local ales to choose from. The Marlborough's pub garden is arguably Bath’s finest; a walled courtyard space, that’s perfect for summertime lunching and drinking.

Disappointing. Expensive reheated food. Limited menu and beer choices. I will think twice before booking a table at The Marlborough Tavern again.

Beautiful Sunday lunch as always. Service was lovely. Was a special occasion with my neighbours and friends - so great time to be altogether. Pub was very busy when we arrived and table wasn’t ready but we got drinks and sat in garden until ready. Always a lovely time at the Marlborough Tavern.

Early Saturday dinner after a long walk, we both had steak and ale pie. Only ok , more of meat casserole with pastry top, guess it depends on your definition of a pie. Pastry top welded to pie dish as chef had not lined rim with pastry before putting lid on. Certainly not the best meal we've eaten here. We just choose the wrong dish on this occasion .

We booked this for my daughter's 21st birthday lunch and it was amazing. The staff couldn't do enough for us and the food was outstanding! They even helped us out with a dog bowl so we could feed our doggo.

Delicious food, good service, nice atmosphere (until around 10.30pm when the whole place emptied!). Have been before and will definitely go again.

We went to The Marlborough Tavern for Sunday lunch and they did not disappoint. Food was first class, great portion sizes and elegantly presented. We all had a Sunday roast, beef and pork belly, it was truly delicious! The pub is also fur friendly and they provided a water bowl for our doggy. We had a table by the fire, it was perfect with lots of space and not too near the main door or the lavatory. The decor is simple and elegant in a traditional design. Will definitely visit again, good value for money with the excellent quality of food produce.

A while since we’ve been to The Marlborough Tavern. No particular reason hasten to add. Lovely Valentines Day menu. Enjoyed what we ordered although both meals could have been served hotter(as in heat not spice). Not too noisy although personally not a lover of dogs in restaurants. Will be back.

Food and service impeccable. My only small moan was, sadly there was no custard available for dessert, which was a shame

Really enjoyed our meal here. A busy Sunday evening so glad we booked. Service was attentive and prompt. Wide menu clearly mark for celiac's or vegans. I had a starter and the traditional Sunday roast. Both were fabulous. My wife had the gluten free fish and chips (a rare treat as she is celiac). She was slightly disappointed as the fish was a bit oily. On the whole a great place to eat.
