   The food was excellent. This is a really nice place with a supper club feel. It’s very clean. We were seated close to a huge bank of windows that looked out over the water (ice) and it was snowing… it was very pretty! We couldn’t have asked for a better server! I don’t recall his name unfortunately. But he was funny, polite and attentive. He made sure we had everything we needed and our food was served with just enough time between courses. They had a special menu for Valentines Day. Dinner came with a salad which we both enjoyed. All of the ingredients were really fresh. I ordered the clam chowder as well and it was very tasty. For entree’s - hubby had the salmon and said it was delicious! I ordered the Mariner’s Shrimp and neither of us have ever seen such large shrimp…and the batter was so light and tasty. It was a little if the expensive side but we enjoyed it. We will definitely be making reservations here again. Thank you to The Mariner’s Inn and our server for the wonderful Valentines dinner!

   This restaurant is a wonderful gem located on the north side of Madison. From the craft cocktails to the perfectly cooked tenderloin filet and Ahi Tuna—this was a wonderful dining experience. Neither of us saved room for dessert but I had some serious FOMO after seeing what the other tables ordered. This is a great spot that’s off the beaten path to celebrate a relationship milestone, friendship or a host a business dinner.

   Overall experience was good. It was restaurant week so choices were limited. While the food was good, we felt some of the portions were small especially the salad and dessert, and had to pay extra for potato. Also no bread was served. Enjoyed the ambiance so would go back again when not restaurant week and hope the value would be better.

   Visited for Restaurant Week and we expected more value for our money. I made a reservation several days in advance for our party of 8 and requested a round table for ease of conversation. We got a long table instead, which was actually ok because several members of our party didn't show, and the restaurant was quiet enough. While waiting for our table, I ordered a rail Old Fashioned at HH which was very over-priced at around $10. Upon being seated, we didn't receive bread which should be standard at a supper club. Our waitress was ok enough, but came off a bit gruff and gave a "rushed" vibe. My companions ordered the clam chowder app while I ordered the salad. Both were shockingly small portions so it was obvious they were skimping on quantity. The chowder came in a bowl but literally only filled half of it. The walleye was a generous-sized fillet with good flavor, while my salmon florentine was delicious. What bothered us was the lack of sides to accompany our entrees. Some kind of potato and veggies is to be expected, so it seems they were trying to save $ by skimping here and felt like we were short-changed. My cheesecake was a decent portion but consistency was a little too dense and "thick" vs light and airy. Still very tasty. The key lime pie my companions ordered were tiny squares, much smaller than the "regular" size shown in photos. Overall, food quality was good to great but we didn't feel we got decent value for our money. Restaurant Week is a time to shine and showcase your menu to encourage repeat visits and gain new customers in the process. Entrees should include sides at a place like this, especially during RW! At $30/40/50 per meal, we felt a bit cheated and a couple of us left still hungry. This restaurant has earned a loyal following over decades of yrs in business and earned plenty of profits I'm sure. Why not treat those customers to a little more generosity and leave a stellar impression before closing for good?

    Made resolutions. They were on time. No wait. Food was delicious. Cooked perfectly. This year was better than last year. Staff was friendly. So sad they are shutting down.
