Perched directly above Lake Bonavista with large glass windows overlooking the lake, The Lake House is home to one of Calgary’s finest and most creative restaurants as well as a unique setting for weddings and events.

The Lake House features Canadian Rocky Mountain Resorts‘ (CRMR’s) renowned and distinctive Rocky Mountain Cuisine. This is interpreted and presented by Chef Gareth Colville. Chef Colville and his team excel at showcasing the regional flavor of Western Canada. Our locally inspired menus are complimented by a diverse wine list offering global selections authored by acclaimed sommelier Brad Royale.

The food was delicious!! Our party of five ordered a variety of items, each of which was perfectly prepared, fresh and appealing. The noise level was the only detraction from a five star review all around. Service was understandably slower due to a very crowded dining room, but that is too be expected two weeks before Christmas. Lots of vibrant, large-group celebrations going on this particular Sunday evening… can’t complain too much about that! So nice to see so many happy people enjoying such a beautiful restaurant.

The Lakehouse is an awesome dining experience! Our group comes here for our Christmas gathering every year. The food & service is great. The views from the dining room are gorgeous. A lovely place for special occasions!

We enjoyed a lunch at The Lake House. We were greeted by friendly staff that offered to take our coats. We were seated at a lovely table with a nice view of the lake as we had requested on our reservation. Our server was personable and very knowledgeable about the menu. We did not feel pressured to order outside what we were looking to order which is nice. The timing of our drinks and food coming out was comfortable and each dish tasted like it was made with care. Lots of flavour and very satisfying! The rustic atmosphere was really nice and the Christmas decorations were tasteful. An excellent experience!

Such a lovely setting looking out on the lake. It was a lovely mellow lunch visit with lovely staff and great food. It’s a little pricey but we knew that going in.

Upon our early arrival for our reservation, the reception staff was able to accommodate us. After offering to take our coats, they escorted us to a beautiful seat overlooking the lake. The fireplace was lit and beautifully decorated for the holiday season. We were quickly served water and had our drink orders taken. The cocktails and our meals were perfect. Both the staff and the food were exceptional. Despite the full dining room, we could easily hear each other. The tables were perfectly arranged, allowing us to enjoy our evening without being distracted by the comings and goings of other patrons or waitstaff.

Really great place to go for a nice romantic dinner. Overlooking the lake is great and adds to the experience. The staff were excellent and did a nice job of recognizing the birthday celebration.
