The Britannia is Richmonds leading independent restaurant and bar.
Located in the centre of town and down a very pretty cobbled alleyway, we are next to historic Richmond Green and two minutes from the Waterside.
We have two large outside spaces - A roof terrace for traditional dining and a garden that lends itself to drinks and lighter fare.
The bar inside is cosy with the bustle of a busy space and the upstairs restaurant tables have white cloths and lamps for a more intimate feel.
Serving Day Boat Fish and Chips to grilled Lobster, Vegan and Vegetarian dishes along with award winning Mackens of Chiswick Steaks, simply the finest food in the area.
Our Wine list has more than a nod to the old world, showing not only the best of Burgundy and Bordeaux but also more eclectic boutique wines from Italy, Spain and even the USA.
We pride ourselves on our cocktails. Vesper Martinis sit alongside Hemingway Daiquiris and a large selection of Spritz for the summer months.

    Lovely little place in Richmond for lunch, dinner or a drink at the bar. Food quality was impressive. We had the duck breast and steak which were perfect. Lovely ambience and very cosy. Service was unobtrusive, excellent and very on point. Wine recommendations were very much appreciated and good. I would specifically like to mention Marie and Anjali who welcomed us and served us. Thank you to you both.

    A great birthday meal - food was great, lovely service & a glass of complimentary fizz as it was my husbands birthday which was a lovely touch. Had been recommended by several friends & was definitely worth the visit. Will be back.

    First time we had tried this place and it was wonderful. It’s quite on the expensive side, but the food makes it well worth it. It takes a little bit of time for the mains to come out, but the service is excellent and it was a lovely Mother’s Day treat.

    Perfect setting and place for Sunday lunch - cosy, intimate but spacious for your table, great interior (been meaning to go since the refurbishment). Staff were friendly, attentive, professional. Food was delicious and pleased the whole table. Prices are on the higher side but you are in Richmond, and the set menu provides a more cost effective option. Glad to have selected for Mother’s Day - the mother was happy! Will definitely return - hopefully to try the outdoor bit at the back which looked tempting in the sunshine even in March
