   Awful experience. Hadn't been for a while, only place I could book a table......... Place was quite empty and offered a table right in middle of walk way to toilet, with 2 dogs, it was very frustrating. Asked if we cd sit elsewhere, she said no, husband got annoyed and she was just rude, and said sit anywhere!! Service was sooo slow, drinks too forever to arrive, and when food came, fish and chips were Luke warm, and still debating whether the haddock the waitress said as it was tasteless. Fish pie served with half a baked cabbage, very odd. Funny how Bill came quickly!!

   Good Evening Angela, Firstly we have a zero tolerance policy on rudeness towards our teams. The table that was initially offered was suitable for the size of the booking, as well as considerations for our other reservations that we also had. We would have been more than happy to try and find a more suitable table for you but unfortunately your husband was extremely rude to a member of our team, dictating where he will be sitting. In regards to the food and service, nothing was raised by yourselves about the food temperature or taste during the checkbacks we provide in our service cycle.    The service was friendly and attentive. Unfortunately the food wasn’t very good quality. The chips were soggy and the use of what we call ‘plastic cheese’ slices in the burgers when you are paying a high price for a burger (compared to mcdonald’s, for example) was disappointing.

   Nice pub with nice ambiance. Lovely garden for the warmer months. The Sirloin Steak sandwich was very good as was the kids chicken schnitzel, but the chicken and bacon club sandwich could have been better as it didn’t contain much meat and it was vey sloppy. None of the sandwiches came with chips and these had to be ordered separately which we thought was a little stingy considering the price. Service was okay and although the food came out reasonably quickly, the drinks took a while. 12.5% service charge was added, which although was “optional” is still awkward when asking to have it removed.

   I book a late mother's day a week later. I booked on line wanting a table for 730pm, but there app would only let me tick the 745 pm box, then I booked. All four adults turned up for dinner and the waiter said, sorry the kitchen is closed. They tried to call but had a different no. Could have emailed me? The waiter said it wasn't his fault! The Black Swan web site accepted my booking! It wasn't my fault! Really looking forward to it. Very disappointed in every way.

   We apologise for the disappointment regarding your booking. As mentioned on arrival, the booking should have not been processed by the booking system but it came through as our last tables for the day were 6pm. upon receiving this reservation we tried to contact via telephone multiple times over the course of two days but the number that was provided was incorrect. A message was also sent via the booking system which would have also gone through to the email address, provided that this was correct. We can only apologise for the inconvenience and disappointment & we hope to see you again in the future.

   Stressed & barely-coping front of house team made for a tense atmosphere with long waits for orders & rushed, hassled service. Food was hit & miss, considering price paid, overall a disappointing experience. Shame as we love this place and have been going for many years.

   The roast has VERY little actual meat (lamb) maybe 60g by the time you cut off the fat. The chicken was the same. Lobster started also has VERY little lobster Overall it was decent but overpriced compared to other pubs in the area where the food is much better. £40ph with no option for those who could not eat 3 courses. Kids meal was £20 and def not worth it. Empty plates left on the table for too long I wouldn’t rush back in afraid, which is a shame as the actual place and situ is lovely but the food is just not up to those prices.

   Hi Sonja, we are sorry to hear that you did not have an excellent visit. Mothers Day is the busiest day of the year in our calendar. All of our food is cooked fresh on site and we adhere to set specifications for every dish in regards to portion sizes & ingredients. Due to being mothers day a set menu is what we were required to run as a company, and to offer something special for the day. £40 for 3 courses & including a free cocktail spritz for mothers, is set for us by the business and while we have no control of our pricing structure, we believe this is very good value.    We were celebrating my friend’s birthday. Everything was amazing. The atmosphere in the pub and the service were fabulous. The waiters were very fast and accurate. The food was delicious. Thank you 🙏
