   Went in to celebrate a birthday, they had a nice little touch of adding a birthday note on the menu and free dessert. Everything was going well until the ordering and food. Our order was taken wrong or mixed up with another table so half our table waited like 40 minutes after the first half got their food. After that, they brought out an order wrong TWICE that made one person wait even longer. We came here because the food looked good but it was hard to enjoy the food when it was all coming out at EXTREMELY different times and some of friends couldn’t really enjoy it. Couldn’t tell if it was a server issue or just an off night but not sure if we would be back to celebrate another birthday.

   Average quality and extremely overpriced. Be prepared to pay close to $30 (after tip and tax) for an average Old Fashion. Wines prices are not better. Tables are shared, so expect to be seated in a long table with two different parties at your sides (no privacy, even with a reservation). Also, you could be seated 10 feet away from the entry door, so bring a good sweater. As food goes, the cheese table was decent, but the charcuterie board was poor at best (of the 10 items on the board, three were actually meats, the other seven were cheap mustards, berries, olives, etc.). I think quality has declined a lot since my previous visit to the place. Throw in horrible parking, limited (I think three) bathroom stalls for more than a hundred patrons, and a very noisy ambiance, and you are there. The waiting crew was great, though. Skip it.

   Worst table, next to kitchen (should not be available to customers, unless last resort), drinks took 15 minutes to arrive, after(!) first course/food arrived; very bad. They also got the order wrong (waiter did not write anything down, forgot a couple things).

   Server was extremely helpful and each of his recommendations was spot on, we loved everything! The lamb ribblets were especially amazing!

   EXCEPTIONAL Paella this evening. The fresh mussels, clams, shrimp, chorizo sausage, chicken, veggies, and authentic Spanish crispy rice were the best ever!! Our server and service were perfect also. Terra Plata's attention to allergies and customer satisfaction are always consistent and greatly appreciated. Beautiful setting to enjoy too.

   Look, I judge restaurants by the food primarily. So the small things I prefer or don't like about noise, value, or service timing matter, but not that much. Because the food at Terra Plata was really really good. We had one course from each quadrant of the menu (starter, earth, land, sea), and they were all good. We had the albracore crudo (really really good despite finding one pinbone), shishito peppers (normally an afterthought at restaurants - not here, the spices added a lot of depth), and the truffle and mushroom risotto (perfect texture). The land course (portuguese roast pig) was probably the only disappointment because it just wasn't as much of a flavor bomb as we expected from the ingredient's listed and just lacked something special. But it was still quite good, just overshadowed by the other dishes. And finally, the dessert (Basque Cheesecake) was amazing. No store bought pre-made dessert here. Unbelievable texture and the blood orange caramel was perfectly balanced. Tiny notes: the food comes out as it's done, which sometimes leads to awkward timing unless you plan what makes sense to have in what order. The service is good, but the restaurant was busy and you won't have them checking on you often. Not inherently an issue - I would rather have someone bothering me less than more. And we did find a pin bone in the crudo. But overall, it's a place I would recommend to foodies.

   Sylvia did an incredible job recommending dishes and helping us gauge the amount of food for our large group. We went for a joint birthday celebration with my brother and appreciated the customized menu with our names! We left full and excited to come back!

    We sat outside on Feb 15, there were heat lamps everywhere and covered. It was delightful! Sitting outside on a predicted rainy February day and it being warm was amazing! Meal was great! Service was great!
