TAVERNA is nestled in Saskatoon's historic downtown core within walking distance of a number of major hotels in the renowned entertainment district. The building was originally the grocery section of the J.F. Cairns Department Store dating back to 1907. Taverna still maintains a historical charm and character, serving delicious, exceptionally well-prepared Italian American food since 1969. Simultaneously comfortable yet aspirational.

We believe that keeping the food fresh, simple and whole is the secret to a successful dish. Italian food doesn't have to be complicated or elaborate to be spectacular.

This is a very good restaurant and although a little pricey, you pay for what you get and this isn't Mickey Ds.

The food was wonderful - and our server was great. The physical decor at Taverna is more small town restaurant than fancy. And we are very comfortable with that. I think that Taverna is one of Saskatoon's gems.

I had indicated when booking our reservation it was a date night. When we arrived they seated us at a cozy table right by the fireplace! Very nice. The Burrata Bruschetta was wonderful and my Eggplant Parmesan was amazing. We each brought home half our meal as it was a generous and rich helping!
