The food and atmosphere were great but service is lacking. We waited 50 minutes to get our bottle of wine. We waited 40 minutes before they asked us for our order. A different waitress had to bring us our bread 40 minutes into the meal. Supposedly a manager had taken the keys to all the wine and liquor cabinet home and could not return them so they were going into the seller to try to find the wine we wanted and we had to settle online that we didn’t. They did copy it in the end. Our waitress seemed very inexperienced and so a lady who appeared to be the manager kept helping with the tables.

The staff lost control of the restaurant. What started as a nice evening ended in chaos over dessert and the bill. Food was very slow. The bar was unavailable because a key was missing. Very slow service. The food ok. Too bad.

We made the reservation for 6:00pm assuming that would be enough time to make a 7:30 pm show across the street. We left at 7:40 and were surprised how long it took to get served since there were very few other diners. Food was good.

My wife and I came to Abingdon to attend a performance at the Barter Theatre. We decided to make a reservation at Sisters since it was so close. The food was very good. Our server was attentive and took good care of us. There was a piano player who played several show tunes we recognized. It was a great meal in a nice historic hotel. Maybe not the best place for kids but definitely for adults and couples.

Making reservations was easy and now we know why. Food quality is very poor from beginning to end. The bread is tasteless. Salads - okay - probably the “funky beets” was the best item we had - but the salad should be named “arugula salad with beets - and there were few beets but tons of salad. The presentation was poor. Goat cheese good. Do not order the Chicken Marsala. The chicken was fine, but the sauce was not properly prepared and tasted like raw flour. The potatoes were not cooked and the spinach was mostly stems with no flavor. Sadly, we stopped at that - had breakfast the following morning - and eggs were okay - but they kept running out of regular coffee and service was sluggish.
