   It was our first time at Serratto, and really love the upscale feel without the stuffiness. Very laid back atmosphere and the place is very clean. Made a reservation and the table was available right on arrival. Server was very attentive and service was great. We ordered appetizers, main dish, and dessert. The only issue we had was when the Halibut arrived it smelled fishy, it wasn’t strong but just slightly. I decided to taste the fish to see if it was coming from the fish or if it was coming from the scallops dish. The Halibut didn’t taste overly fishy, so I decided to eat and my wife had a bite when I was half way finished. She took a bite of a bottom piece that had the less lean part of the fish and she said it tasted fishy (in a sense that it wasn’t fresh). I said well I am half way done and the smell wasn’t as noticeable to me. So I finished it. Wife had the scallops and she liked them, daughter had the burger and she also enjoyed her meal. The Crème Brûlée was good. Overall the ambiance and food was good but I should have listened to the wife and not finished the fish. I did pay for it later with a stomachache, I just couldn’t get myself to say anything to the server since I had already finished half of it. Moral of the story is I should listen to my wife. We will return and try some of the other dishes.

   Serratto’s is a go to place for us. The food is always good and reasonably priced, the servers are always friendly, pleasant and do a good job balancing efficiency and allowing us to enjoy ourselves and our friends. It can get a little noisy when it is a full house, sit by the windows and that helps. Certainly recommend it highly.

   Love this place. Service was a little off this time and food was not as amazing as always. Not sure If it’s a staffing issue or something else. Appetizer never showed, vegetables were cold, had a hair in my daughters French fries, pasta was on the dry side and server, although we adore her; had too many tables and was difficult to chase down. Having said that. We frequently dine here and rarely have any complaints about food or service. We will definitely be back and will dismiss this experience as a “off night”

   Mediocre food, sub-par service. Nothing about the food was offensive, but it wasn’t particularly delicious or memorable. Luckily it wasn’t exorbitantly priced. The service, however, was terrible. Long wait between being seated and having a drink order taken. Even longer wait before food order was taken. No one stopped back to see if we needed anything else after our food arrived. Server never asked if we wanted to order a second cocktail. Someone who wasn’t our server stopped by and asked me mid-bite if we wanted anything boxed up to go. (Literally half my entree was still on my plate.) Server rudely tossed check on the table without a word and walked away. We were a well-behaved party of three just trying to have a normal dinner out. Will not be back.

   My go to restaurant when I’m in Portland Excellent food, great service! Stared with the burrata with arugula, pomegranate, fig jam, prosciutto, grilled baguette. So good! The beef tenderloin was perfectly cooked and the root vegetable gratin was delicious. Finished with the sour cherry crostata served with vanilla ice cream. Can’t wait for the next visit.
