Three of us had lunch in the Santa Ana Café. The location and the ambience are excellent. Food was very good. One friend had two chili Rellenos and a cup of the green chili stew both of which she thoroughly enjoyed. Myself and our other friend both had the Santa Fe omelette. She added mushrooms. I added mushrooms and spinach. We were busy talking and not paying attention and the server did not ask for clarification … she ended up getting mine with the spinach and I ended getting hers without the spinach. We were both into them before we realized the error. Our waiter, Will, was excellent! The young man who served the plates pleasant and helpful, but that’s an error that should not have happened. For this reason I give four stars. We also had the green chili apple pie for dessert. Very tasty but disappointing as I said to Will, if I didn’t know there was green chili in there I wouldn’t know. Barely barely just a hint any less and there would be nothing so definitely did not qualify in my mind as a green chili apple pie. It was just apple pie. but, as I said, it was delicious, if a very small for the price ($10).

This is a delightful place for any of the day's three meals, whether sitting inside or in the large covered and screened outdoor patio. Nice selections on the menu and service is attentive. We live in nearby Placitas and find this to be one of the nicer places to eat in the Placitas, Bernalillo and Rio Rancho area. After your meal, you can take a walk along the Rio Grande River where, in the fall, the cottonwood colors are spectacular.

The food was exceptional. We had the salmon and burrito. Both were cooked well and very flavorful. We had Pupusas for appetizers. We never had them before but we will again. We ate on the patio which was quiet and peaceful. We forget how nice this place is. We will be back sooner rather than later.

We were so lucky to have chosen the Santa Ana Cafe for a dinner before we attended the rodeo at the Tamaya Stables. It was fantastic because they were serving a buffet that night and what a delicious and delightful time! We loved it! The food was wonderful and the variety on the buffet was amazing!

Dinner was delicious 😋, Joe our server was awesome and on point with his recommendations. The appetizer papusas which consisted of 3 corn fritters filled with amazingly smooth cheese, was set next to succulent pork and topped with pickled veggies. YUM! our burrito and rellenos were also VERY good!!!!

We were really disappointed that the menu had been reduced so much since our last visit. There were very few items of interest, and most were greatly overpriced. We had a wonderful waitress, Angelica, an intern from the Philippines, and she did everything to make our dining experience special, but the food wasn't wonderful- as it has always been in the past, and so very expensive. For most of the 2 hours we were there, we were almost the only customers in the restaurant. There were two other occupied tables, but we had a mostly private restaurant. It's really gone downhill since last year and they've apparently lost many/most of their loyal customers.

I’ve only dined for breakfast but food is fresh & amazing, excellent service from everyone I’ve encountered. I absolutely love the patio and can’t wait for the weather to make the patio my weekly go to for brunch. I’ve been 3 times since I found out about Santa Ana and that was just a week ago. See you tomorrow!! Ciao
