Went out with family to celebrate my Birthday. Service was subpar for the amount of staff walking around. Our waiter would make guest appearances. We would see him and them what seemed like hours he would reappear. We were missing a salad, a bowl to put our shells( snow crab legs and lobster) We had to request wipes for our hands!!!! Our bill was way over $600, I expected and was disappointed with the service we received that day. Our food was great. Everyone was pleased with their meal except my daughter. Her snow crab legs were MEATLESS! We encouraged her to inform the staff but she declined.

Sammy’s always delivers I go there all the time the consistency is always top notch the only knock is the salad I don’t like the salad they serve every thing else is one thousand percent !!!

City Island staple. Food is good - cheesy decor and all. Huge portions ecexpt for the 1.5 lb lobster I ordered and the 1 lb I receive. Heave alchohol in the drinks but cheap quality. That said it is not fine dining but definitely a choice when you just want to go eat.

Portion sizes are generous. Bread service was impressive and included. I ordered fried shrimp which had no flavor. Why not lightly season the shrimp and/or the batter? Same with the side pasta dish with garlic and oil. Although you saw the garlic, there was still no taste as it lacked salt. Cocktails were brought out in plastic “glasses”. Service was on point.

Been going to Sammy's Fish Box for many years. I must say that this time I was a bit more disappointed than ever. The reservation was good and I was seated immediately. The server that came was a female who said she was going to be my server. She never returned and a male said he was now my waiter. Ok. He wasn't as attentive as I was used to being a customer all these years. Needless to say the service was slower than usual. The back area where I was seated looked as though it had recently been painted and the lighting updated. That was a Plus (although the paint job was a bit sloppy around the red pipes). I noticed the food prices had jumped about 20 dollars more for the feast for 2 plates since last I came here. When the food came,. I was a bit disappointed to see that it appeared the amount of seafood given had been reduced and it appeared more spaghetti was in its place. That didn't justify the price increase at all. Skipped on dessert because the bill was a bit more whopping than I had anticipated. Also there was a child screaming loudly the entire time 1 table away. Hence the noise/ambiance rating being lower. Truly wish everything (except the decor) would revert back to the way it was at least 5 years ago. (More food, more affordable prices and spectacular service). It's just not the same Sammy's that I recall. Just being honest.
