DOPO, meaning 'after' in Italian, is an intimate dining experience in the lower level of Elizabeth Square on the corner of 34th Ave and 18th Street in Marda Loop, Calgary. Inspired by D.O.P, its predecessor restaurant, on Canada's Top 100 three years in a row, DOPO has been reimagined by Executive Chef, David Leeder and Owner, Tony Migliarese. With strong opinions from Mamma Rose, of course.

Where do I even start! My husband and I came here for the first time to celebrate our three-year anniversary, and I cannot believe we hadn’t come here sooner. The ambiance was perfect—warm lighting and cosy decor set the stage for a lovely evening! We were greeted by Stu, who is super friendly (and very funny) and he made us feel right at home! We even had the pleasure of meeting the owner, who was absolutely lovely and took the time to chat with us and gave us recommendations for other restaurants as well, as we are new to Calgary. They offer a wide variety of dishes, but we opted for their specials. I ordered the seafood pasta, while my husband chose the wagyu steak. Both dishes were beautifully presented and incredibly delicious. To finish off the evening, we indulged in dessert. The Nutella cheesecake was heavenly—light and creamy with just the right amount of sweetness. Overall, our experience at Carino was exceptional. We left feeling happy, full, and excited to return. If you're looking for a place that combines great food with a lovely atmosphere, Carino is definitely the place for you!

Three of us recently dined at Vero for the first time. I decided to take a moment to write a review since we were all very impressed with the quality of the service, the ambiance, the quality of the food, and the attention to detail. Two of us had the surf and turf platter and the other had the tagliatelle puttanesca. We also had some olives to start and tiramisu to finish. The suggested wine pairing with the platter was spot on and was not overly expensive. After the first few bites, it soon became apparent that the chef was able to capitalize on the quality and marriage of the ingredients for flavour so did not need to use excessive salt, sweetness or butter as a crutch. While the pasta and the platter offerings were all terrific, I thought the lamb stood out. It was exceptional. Dining at Vero is not cheap but I think it is good value considering the outstanding quality of the food and service. I will definitely be back. By the way, I'm almost positive that I saw Mr. Frank Wong dining at a nearby table. Frank Wong seems to have disappeared from the scene over the past decade or so, but some foodies may recall that "back in the day" Frank Wong was one of the country's most discerning yet reclusive food critics. The fact that Frank Wong chooses to dine at Vero is high praise indeed.

Very impressed with your visit to The Fat Ox. We didn't plan specifically to be there for happy hour but we took advantage of the small plates menu and ordered seven or eight different items. We thoroughly enjoyed all, the shrimp scampi dish, and the gorgonzola gnocchi were our favorites. Service was great, atmosphere was great, all in all we were very happy.
