"The Cygnet at The Swan" is an award winning restaurant led by Paul Welburn (previously awarded Michelin star at The Oxford Kitchen 2018). We have currently been awarded "3AA Rosettes" since being open, as well as both local awards "Ox in a Box" and "Muddy Stilettos Best Restaurant" awards.

We are open from Wednesday to Saturday, bookings are encouraged but not necessary. Our style is a "relaxed fine dining" always looking out for our guests comfort and experience.

Our food is a fusion of British cuisine with Paul's personal twists.
We offer our signature 4 course tasting menu for the evening (or lunch, just ask us) using seasonal ingredients.
Our menu can be enjoyed with matching wines handpicked by the restaurant staff.
Our menu is everchanging with the seasons, so there is always a reason to visit again!
We also offer our grazing menu for all lunchtimes and some evenings, with a selection of smaller and larger plates, ordered and served as and when for a more relaxing style.

I had lunch at The Cygnet with a friend for a significant birthday and it did not disappoint. Food was superb and the staff went to great effort to ensure the meal felt special for her.

Christmas menu is gorgeous, wine menu always good, what more could you ask for a departmental Christmas dinner, food so good I’ve booked a lunch in with my parents pre Christmas.

Aside from pho, you can also expect to find amazing sharing starters, healthy salads, hearty rice bowls and decadent curries. They have a range of freshly made juices and also Vietnamese beers and a large wine and cocktail list. Pho’s menu is 40% vegan and nearly entirely gluten-free too. Amazing good, extremely tasty! One of us is allergic to garlic which can be a massive pain and sometimes we get a bit of push back about it, but it wasn’t an issue at all and there was still lots of choice for them. Drinks were lovely. It was very busy with it being Christmas Eve but service was still amazing, especially from Rob the manager! Will definitely be coming again!

The Fishes is a hidden gem. Quite a big gem, too. An imposing Victorian building set in acres of wooded grounds leading down to the banks of Seacourt Stream. The deck that wraps around the conservatory offers a rare opportunity in land-locked Oxford to dine outside with an idyllic view. In recognition of this, the Fishes was named Al Fresco Dining Pub of the Year in 2006, as well winner of The Public Vote in Oxfordshire Restaurant awards 2012 making it one of the best restaurants in Oxford.

Traditionally, we have dinner at the Fishes on Christmas Eve's Eve. This year it was a good a meal as ever we've had. Convivial service, especially delightful, when I couldn't make my mind up! Food delicious and it didn't break the bank! Thank you, and Merry Christmas
