About the restaurant
Mixing all these ingredients is so exciting for Houston’s wonder-Chef Bruce Molzan and his partner Neera Patidar! The concept and food at Ruggles Black is modern and fun: a fusion pushing Indian, Asian, and American flavors to whole new boundaries in terms of taste, but keeping it accessible in terms of price. Ruggles Black is THE place to be for conscious eating foodies, as Bruce “The King of Paleo” cooks his amazingly delicious treats with local ingredients from farmers, while embracing the Paleo principles.

Love the food, service and ambiance. But the noise level is such that you have to speak very loudly to your companions, even during lunch. Some padding under the tables might help.

Our food and service were excellent. The restaurant was decorated beautifully and the Christmas music added to the ambiance. Our waitress went above and beyond to meet all of our needs. A member of the hostess staff took a holiday picture of us. It couldn’t have been a better experience.

About the restaurant
Brunch on Saturday and Sunday is primarily first come, first served. If you do not see the time you want available online, please call us directly.

When owner Johnny Carrabba set out on his next restaurant venture, he knew his vision would include the fond memories he had of his dear grandmother Grace Mandola. Grace, also known to the family as Mama, was a Sicilian woman born to immigrant parents in Louisiana. She had a flair for cooking, hospitality, and deep faith.

She was known to make bread from scratch every Saturday for her legendary three-hour Sicilian Sunday lunches; and, her newly established family roots in Louisiana added interesting flavors to her home cooked meals. The entire Mandola family, including her five children and fourteen grandchildren, was regularly greeted in her home with smells of warm bread, well brewed sauces and homemade soups. It was around her table that her family learned the true meaning and value of relationships, friendships and good food.
