Lechon is a South American dining experience that seamlessly combines the fiery cooking of Argentina, Chile and Patagonia, along with creative inspiration of the chef. Enjoy perfectly charred 28-day dry-aged ribeye, grilled octopus with chorizo, housemade piquillo pepper and pork empanadas, slow roasted lechon, refreshing ceviches and smoked bone marrow.

Executive Chef Jaco Smith consistently pushes the boundaries on traditional Latin fare by incorporating wood-fired flavors into his cuisine while boasting a view of the Willamette River that few Portland restaurants can offer. Smith comes from a large family of cattle, sheep and grain farmers. He started cooking at a young age in his mother’s kitchen. His favorite childhood memories include the tastes of dulce de leche, flan and grilled breads, reminiscent of South American flavors and commonly found on South African kitchen tables.

An absolutely fabulous dining experience. The chef Jaco Smith is wonderful and has a wonderful menu and service that is more than excellent. Highly recommended when in Portland!

What a wonderful experience! From the moment we walked in we were greeted with enthusiasm and excitement. The food was delicious and the ambiance of the restaurant made it even better. We were so happy to see that Trela finally opened! Glad to have a Greek restaurant on the eastside. Service was great, and we loved the ambience. We started with the scordalia, delicious and garlicky, served with warm pita bread. We loved the marouli salad - super light and refreshing. The saganaki - salty, fried cheese flambeed with lemon - was amazing! The spanokopita was spinach-heavy and had incredible flavor and texture, and the gigantes plaki was perfection. We opted for a nice bottle of Sarris Robola, a tasty Greek white wine that complemented our meal nicely. Our server brought a complimentary apertif to end the meal - a nice touch! Alas, we did not save room for dessert. Next time we plan to bring friends so we can experience more of the menu.

This place has always been a favorite, but last night’s dinner was extra perfect. We came in as a group of 9 to share an intimate wedding dinner and the restaurant went out of their way to make everything perfect for us. The area we were seated in was adorable and very quiet - even when the restaurant was packed we felt like the only ones there. Excellent food, delicious drinks, great service. Can’t recommend IST enough for a celebration!

The place has a good atmosphere. The service is great, They are attentive without being obtrusive a hard balance to strike. The food is good. The value at happy hour was quite good. Really do my wife and I finish dinner at around $50 and that was with 2 ciders. It was a perfect place to have dinner being only a mile from the Moda center where we saw a concert that night. If you are looking for a place to eat that is close to event centers this is a great option.
