I took my elderly parents to Vela for a family celebration on a Monday night. Staff were friendly and welcoming, and the restaurant was clean and beautifully fitted out. We ordered several dishes to share and were very pleased with all of them. Our waiter was helpful, answering our questions and repeating our order back to us to make sure it was correct.

Celebrated my son's 21st Birthday with a set menu for 10 ordering the Wagyu rump drop. Amazing food, value, service and ambience. Staff were excellent - caring, considerate and attentive and made it a successful and joyous event. Venue was gorgeous, classy and felt like a high class resort. Thank you very much to Black Hide - looking forward to dining there again.

Always lovely. A few small niceties have been stopped (like warm complimentary bread rolls with meals) but 2 course with wine deal is still good value and the food is always outstanding.

What a treat for lunch! Access by train was easy. The food was delicious. Looking forward to next visit. Sharing platters are a great way to try many different foods.

The staff were incredibly attentive and accommodating, going above and beyond by providing extra chairs for unexpected guests at our table. The food and drinks were both delicious. The recent renovations have certainly enhanced the space, making it even more stunning. However, it seems that acoustics weren't a major consideration, as the room was very loud.
