Not our first time at the Red Rooster, we've always had a wonderful experience there. (One of the few local establishments where the bartenders know how to make a cocktail). The one spot we always hit when we stay/visit Woodstock.

Overall, a nice dinner. The room is bright and set up well. Our server Ashley was personable and efficient. For appetizers we had the beet salad (excellent) and chicken mousse (good). for entrees we had the chicken and the pheasant special. The meals were okay, but the poultry was slightly over cooked. Also the vegetable accompaniments could have been better.

First time staying at Woodstock Inn and glad to have made reservations in restaurant. Food was outstanding. Staff very attentive to every need. Had the beef tenderloin special with smoked cauliflower. Done to perfection. Other entree was the fish featured on regular menu. Chef certainly shows a flair for unique combinations that work extremely well.

Food was fine. The highlight of the food was the Maple cake for dessert. Carlos, the waiter was excellent. I had the bruschetta and my wife had the cheese sandwich and the squash soup combo. The flatbread pizza was fine and the cheese sandwich was consumed by my wife. The squash soup was a bit sour and in need of some cream, possibly some butter, Rosemary and a little Maple syrup for sweetness. Carlos made the experience fun and enjoyable and we would come back to sit in his area.!

We always enjoy this local gem of a restaurant for lunch in the lovely Vermont village of Woodstock about an hour and a half from our summer home in Dorset. The food is superior and the service the best. Our server Koreen was amazing. She was on top of everything like a true professional. We each started with a cup of tomato bisque (non-dairy) and my lunch partner had the burger and fries (no bread or cheese) and I had a classic wedge salad with roasted chicken ... apples, red onions and walnuts complemented the local blue cheese ranch dressing ... ever so delicious. We enjoyed wine by the glass: a Napa chardonnay and an Italian Barbera from Piedmontese. This is a destination restaurant in the centuries old Woodstock Resort Inn where an overnight stay would complete a fabulous lunch or dinner. The roaring fireplace in the main lobby is a beautiful antique feature of the resort in the winter season when the frost is on the pumpkins adorning the front porte cochere and courtyard.

We couldn’t have been happier going there , the food was prepared differently from many other places and couldn’t have been happier! Very tasty and the portions were perfect . I enjoy eating and my wife and I split all the plates and we were both full and satisfied by the end of the meal.
