   Parked in a carpark full of rubbish- food and renovation wise blowing around car park. Atmosphere - nice old building but staff overwhelmed and no cleaning effort made. I ordered food at bistro till and gave table number- food failed to arrive, obviously docket missed. Over 1 hour later after complaining we got a very average birthday meal in stages as they scrambled to cover kitchen problem. Staff apologised. One good thing was the fish and chips which was brilliant- best ever with flat head tails. Sadly a local hotel would have loved it be be good or even average.

   The Yarra Glen Grand is value for money and the food is exceptional. The food standard and value are better than some Melbourne Restaurants.

   Our seating was undercover but outside and it was just too noisy, very hard to have a conversation so we left, would have been better inside.

   Having eaten here before we were very disappointed. The food took over an hour and was dry which appeared to be more of a short staffing issue then any fault of the chef. When being seated the staff asked if we were locals and once we said no, they sat us next to the kitchen and queues for food purchasing. Finally, there was only 1 terminal working at the bar so lines were long and frustrating.

   Great food - a cut above typical pub fare for quality and innovation. The entrees are so good I had 3 instead of an entree and a main. Very generous portions.

    60 minuets to wait from ordering ( standard meals) too long . Especially when the venue was app 30% full. Not happy. This will cause me to drive to lilydale hotels (will have plenty of time spare)
