Review summary

AI-generated from verified diner reviews
Wye Oak Tavern, led by Chefs Michael and Bryan Voltaggio, offers a "beautiful" dining experience with "amazing" food and "wonderful" cocktails. The restaurant's unique design in a former church creates a "fantastic" atmosphere. Great overall. Exceptional food and service. Stephanie was a perfect waitress, Chef Brian was the best, took time to talk to us at our table. Planning our next trip back, hope to bring more family with us.

I have dined at all of Chef Bryan’s establishments and this is by far the best of all. The atmosphere is lively, but not loud, I could easily carry on a conversation with my companion. The furnishings and tableware are elegant but not overly done or intimidating. The food is classic Bryan, approachable, perfectly executed with an eye to quality ingredients cooked and served to let those ingredients shine. The service was both friendly and attentive. The oysters were ice cold, sweet, completely cleaned and served with perfect accompaniments. Both the salmon and swordfish were cooked perfectly and the brussel sprouts are something to dream about. My companion and I were both pleasantly surprised at the bill as I would have expected a higher tab for our choices. Well done Chef.

Had drinks and dinner on a Tuesday evening. Everything was top notch. Creative cocktail list and great service at the bar.Dinner was excellent. My wife and I had the ribeye and the Prime Rib. Both delicious. Again service was excellent. Our writer (unfortunately I forget his name because he deserves a shout out) went above and beyond. We had left over Prime Rib and we were staying at the hotel (The Visitation). He had a mini fridge delivered to our room, without our asking,so we could take the leftovers. All in all a great experience. Also a terrific happy hour.

The experience at the Wye Oak Tavern was amazing. The service is exemplary, the food impeccable. Of particular note the sommelier was enthusiastic, knowledgeable and a was great to interact with. It is well worth the visit if you're looking for something special in the DMV.

This was our first visit to Wye Oak Tavern but not our first visit to a place run by Chef Voltaggio and as always we had an awesome evening of food and cocktails. Always love our visits to one of his places. Service was great and food was always great new building is beautiful. Can't wait for another visit.

Went on a stormy, snowy night. Expected restaurant to be empty. It was full up; testament to its popularity in Frederick. Service from start to finish was excellent. Food, IMO, was average at best. Others in the dinner party would characterize the food as "good" - and for one even "good plus." Venue is positively gorgeous. Has to be the most beautiful restaurant in Frederick (and beyond). Sound level was (again IMO) very high - most likely due to the two-story high ceilings. I had difficulty listening/hearing the person more or less directly opposite me. Others in the party thought it was "acceptable." We had 7 pm reservations, no wait to be seated, but did not get out until a little after 9:30 Timing of service between courses could have been a lot better (unanimous opinion); but they might have been short staffed in the kitchen - it was snowing all night and had been for the previous 10 hours. Expensive, but not as expensive as downtown DC or NYC. (As a "first night special" they had a 30-day dry aged steak for $48. I didn't order it but I was sorely tempted. If it was well prepared, that would have been a great bargain.

Impeccable service in a quirky/fun space. Wye Oak Tavern has only been open for a few weeks but has the Voltaggio trademark aesthetic and vibe. The menu is, as always, fun and regional. It probably needs a little more time to get the food exactly the way "Chef" wants it. I had a great time.
