At the heart of the vibrant Tucson gastronomic scene is a quaint, family owned restaurant that has made a name for itself by combining the classical French education of Executive Chef Steven Schultz with the flavors of traditional southwest cuisine. Driven by the vision of casual fine dining that he shares with wife and Maudi Gourdin, the pair have managed to make The Wild Garlic Grill one of Tucson’s premiere destinations for food lovers from all walks of life. That all too familiar aroma of garlic will titillate your senses from the moment you step through the front door, followed instantly by the pageantry of Chef and his crew hard at work in the open kitchen where you can watch your meal as it is prepared. One can sense the warmth that emanates from their comradery and dedication and it doesn’t take long to notice that the front of house staff shares the same passion. It’s almost as if they are one big happy family…

Food was fantastic! We were in the very back area and the ambiance was not as great but it was more quiet! It is a favorite place to go for Joyce and me!

Food was excellent. Waited awhile after water for the waitress to come. Although she was, once there, very informative and attentive thereafter. We had the Sea Bass and Ciopino, which were both excellent. Mussels for an appetizer easily a lighter meal and also excellent. Had a nice evening.

it was me and my wife’s first time coming to wild garlic grill in it for sure did not disappoint. They were overbooked. But we still got in really fast. The service was phenomenal. You can tell everybody here really care cares about their job and what they are doing. And the food is amazing. The best food I’ve ever tried in my life. We will definitely be coming back.

Not a great experience for our first time dining here. However, we did go on Valentine’s Day, a notoriously busy time for restaurants. I believe they over promised and under performed. The tables and chairs were crammed together. Without exaggeration, the guests next to us were seated so close it was like we shared the same table. So close, I had to ask them to scoot over so I could get up and go to the bathroom. The staff were frantically running around just to keep up. The food came out fast, and was ok. We had the ribeye and steak, which were good, but I’ve had the same quality at Longhorn or Texas. Had we tried the restaurant on a normal dining day, our experience might have been better. However, they definitely messed up their Valentine’s Day service.

We have dined at Wild Garlic Grill many times we will never go on a holiday again. It was super crowded which we expected, but the wait time for the drinks was quite long.. My husband had the elk which was very good. I had the lobster seafood cappuccino. Lobster was the worst I have ever had. It must’ve been warm water. I sent it back and the second one was just as bad so overall for the money we paid for Valentine’s Day I think we should have probably went elsewhere

Warning!!! This was our 5th year attending Valentine's Day dinner at this restaurant and our party of six was disappointed to say the least. After sitting at our table for 30 minutes and not yet meeting our server, we asked a hostess if we could at least order drinks, follow by our understanding for the busyness, even with a reservation. Our server came up shortly after this. She seemed promising at first, taking our drink order but unfortunately our drinks and our server never returned. After our party of 6 waited over an hour without a drink we asked to speak to a manager. At this point our server came up promptly ready to take our order after making a rude comment under her breath. I stated I would actually rather just to speak to a manager. The server then went on to say "Did you want to order your food or not?" I again stated I would rather speak to a manager. The manager then comes over. She showed a lack of patience or empathy to our situation repeating its Valentine's Day and they are busy. She then went on to say "I am rambling and to just get to the point!" Another individual in the party said we would like another server. The manager said fine and walked away. At this point it was almost 1.5 hours into our reservation and all we had was our drinks and were extremely frustrated. We chose to leave this reservation where we paid $90 for 6 drinks and had no discount for our troubles on Valentine's Day! Forgot to mention the multiple dirty glasses and it was NOT even raining at this point in the evening for the “Owner” to use this as an excuse as she has in previous reviews. Worst service and dining experience we have ever had. We then went to a different restaurant, nearby, where we were served drinks and had appetizers ordered within 15 minutes of walking in the door. This restaurant was just as busy if not more. All we wanted was a great night like everyone else but unfortunately all this restaurant did was discourage us from ever returning.
