   Our 3rd visit to Watercolours. We really enjoy the food & the ambiance. Our servers are always very pleasant and attentive. This is now one of our favourites!

   The restaurant reception was poorly managed. We arrived at 8 with a reservation at 8, but was not seated until 8:35. There was no host or receptionist at door, servers had to take care of people arriving. During this 35 minutes long wait at the door, a few parties came in and got seated while we stood there and wait. They were groups of different size so they were able to get seated first- understandable. What was not understandable was that the manager (supposingly) stood behind the bar and did nothing. The servers were extremely busy and were not able to attend the new diners coming in. At one point, another group of 8 showed up and waited for a table with another party of 4 beside us. So 14 people were cramped in the reception area with no help and the manger just stood there poring water. I tried to flag him down but with 10 people hovered in the area I couldn’t even move. That was the situation for at least 10 minutes and then I finally got seated. Later that manager were asking tables how the food was and some people complained about food and I heard he took some items off, so I presumed he was the manager. The food was salty overall but not bad. Server was friendly but the reception experience was unacceptable. Now sure how this manager can be so unacceptable in managing experience. With the 35 min wait, at least someone could have asked us to go to the bar area or showed us a drink menu first? But the manager just stood behind the bar and did nothing. The servers had to come do a host job looking after reservations and arriving guests. Poor management.

   This has been a go to favourite restaurant of mine since it’s opening. The atmosphere is great, the service is always excellent but… Two appetizers - mussels and a salad One tiny lobster roll and fries Two beers $160.00 The fennel salad was delicious The mussels were good The tiny lobster roll tasted like a mixture of canned lobster and that fake pollock stuff and the fries were not nearly up to the usual standard Very disappointing. I won’t be rushing back anytime soon. The great service, the lovely patio in the summer don’t make up for the sky high prices and shrinkflation without the quality

   Amazing ambience! Food, including both appetizers and main, however was slightly on the salty side. The seafood risotto, the special of the night, was scrumptious though! It would be great if it can be added to the permanent menu!

   Beautiful spot with very well prepared food. The lamb chops are outstanding. Tried the fennel and arugula salad - very nice but much too big for an appetizer. Little surprised to find only two choices of red wine by the glass. Service was beyond gracious and caring. It is a noisy restaurant so if you have hearing aids, you will struggle. Background music adds to the problem.

    The food was good, although a bit pricey; however, some dishes are worth the cost. The octopus was excellent, and the lobster pasta had generous portions of lobster. While the zucchini chips were tasty, they were definitely overpriced. Overall, I really enjoyed the experience and will definitely return.
