The Cacio E Pepe was extremely salty to the point it was inedible, Best part of the meal was the water.

My first time in Mammoth and my boyfriend had been to Vulcania a few times before. We were here celebrating his 40th birthday, which I told the server when we sat and was noted in my reservation. Ambiance was cool and modern. The food, overall, was good. We got a few cocktails, the tricolore salad (bitter and peppery, but we liked it), calamari fritto, the Voltaggio’s and bolognese ravioli. The ravioli filling was a little sweet for my palate but the Voltaggio’s were a really fun and inventive take on elevated spaghetti o’s, served tableside in a can. We also got the swirl gelato and donuts. The ice cream was great but the donuts were a little one-note and tasted like fryer oil. They were unusually busy I was told, and understaffed, but the service left much to be desired and was bummed it wasn’t a more special experience for his birthday.

Food was ok, Pork was under cooked, service was slow, partners Risotto was OK. Then all the plates come out as made so we wound up eating our meals up to 30 minutes apart for the entrees. Not a great experience, we had to flag our server a lot which didn't help, so we skipped dessert. We read the reviews and expected better, I hope it was an off night.

We love Vulcania for a “special” dinner, always reserve at least a week ahead for a Friday/Saturday. Started with margaritas (rosemary salt rim was fun!) and whiskey sour with lovely fine foam. Sprouts had a creative flavor blend with some brighter notes balanced with a creamy accent from cauliflower purée -sounded weird but worked really well. Caccio de Pepe was on the bland side (lacking Pepe?!) The salami pizza was delicious with lots of thinly sliced meat and a perfect crispy crust. Bourbon espresso martini was a creamy lovely treat. Table by the rear window was nice, a bit out of the hustle and easy to hear our conversation above the lively bar din. Service was friendly and prompt. While the bar is a central decorative feature, the atmosphere is family friendly and relaxed. Booths offer some extra breathing room. A very bright star in the Mammoth dining scene!

Food awesome. Branzino was elite. Perfect crust, meat not dried out. Kids loved the margherita pizza and the Voltaggi-o’s. The Peasar salad hit the spot. Solid gelato with amazing zeppoles. And new age date tiramisu was so delicious. Service is a bit pretentious and stiff. Ambiance is hip mountain but also local dive. Love the crowd.

We have been trying to have dinner here since it opened, but the stars never aligned. Finally, we made it last night & it did not disappoint. The vibe is great, our server made the meal even better, and the food was delicious & very unique. Will look forward to returning as the menu changes seasonally.
