   Probably the best Italian food in Boise by a long way. We’ve eaten there several times- the previously rather gruff owner has been replaced by a charming and attentive manager (new owner?) backed up by some superb wait staff. Calum was our server last night- friendly, knowledgeable and just the right amount of attentiveness without being imposing. Food- as ever- was outstanding- as good if not better as many meals we had in Italy. Carbonara was excellent- we also shared a burrata plate and some delicious bread. My husband had the chicken saltimbocca- just fantastic. The only slight downside to this place is the lack of ambience- the overhead lighting is just a bit too bright. A few candles and some low-level lighting- Vincenzos would give any downtown high-end restaurant a run for their money. It won’t stop us returning- the food is just too good- but it would greatly enhance the overall experience.

   Don’t let the location fool you, this family run Trattoria impresses with good ingredients that are well prepared and not overly seasoned or too rich. Great value! Great food.

   Freshly made pasta! So good. Three of us each had different entrees all were enjoyed. From Rigatoni in red sauce , the pasta with clams or the pasta carbonara all were delicious.

   Vincenzo Trattoria has, by far, the most authentic Italian food in Boise. Not all dishes are prepared in the true Italian manner, but many are. Pasta carbonara is a marvel of simplicity, made with only eggs, cheese, pasta, black pepper, and cured pork cheek. Elsewhere, this dish is often adulterated - when you can find it at all. Vincenzo's is the real deal. His ragu bolognese is likewise the most authentic I have had since I tried it (three times) in Bologna. But the server insisted to me that bucatini pasta is just a thicker spaghetti, arguing he never heard it is tubular. Italian online sources confirm bucatini is indeed tubular: it has "un buco" or "un foro" - a hole, in other words: "pasta con il buco nel centro," appears on Spesasicura.com. "I Bucatini," it rhapsodizes, "con la loro forma elegante e quel piccolo foro al centro che nasconde un mondo di sapori..." i.e., Bucatini, with their elegant form and that little hole in the middle that hides a world of flavors... I had a luscious special of chicken saltimbocca, cooked to perfection. It had crispy prosciutto and sage leaves in a mild sauce. I inhaled it. Again, the need to cater to American tastes meant pasta was served on the same plate as the entree, which is not done in Italy; there, pasta is its own course. The wines by the bottle show off many of Italy's diverse varietals and styles. The two Chiantis I had by the glass however, were pleasant but rather nondescript. For dessert, there was a decadent tiramisu which I enjoyed with capuccino. Vincenzo Trattoria was populated on the night I went by returning regulars, all of whom seemed to regard the meal, and robust conversation, as ends in themselves - just like Italians. No heavily rhythmic music here, nor any TV's, thank goodness! Prices are eminently reasonable, the service attentive, and the whole experience was warm, friendly, and welcoming. Non vedo l'ora di ritornari (I can't wait to go back).

   Wonderful service and extraordinary food. We ordered both specials and truly enjoyed. I asked for a spoon in order to get all the sauce in every bite.

   First time trying Vincenzo’s and it won’t be the last! In a strip mall it is very easy to miss. Nothing too fancy on the inside but the good and service was excellent! I would totally recommend
