Vespaio Restaurant is one of the original South Congress eateries and remains one of Austin's favorite Italian go-to's among locals and visitors. This casual dinner venue is a popular choice for date nights or evenings out with friends, seating every day at 5pm. The interior of Vespaio Restaurant is decorated with ceiling tiles, ceiling plans, vintage pendant lighting, classic table seating, a plethora of wine racks and vibrant accent walls.In addition to a full bar menu, Vespaio Restaurant offers a lengthy selection of mouth-watering and flavorful authentic Italian dishes.     It was my boyfriend’s birthday and I have never seen him so displeased, especially at his favorite restaurant. Our server forgot to fire, or send in, my main dish. After it finally arrived, we had to wait for forks to be delivered after asking our server for them, at least 10 minutes. Plus, our server forgot to ring in his Amaro Nonino and blamed it on other staff members being for it late to the table. I don’t think that he’ll ever walk back in those doors after the experience provided. Katherine was very nice in her review. Zachary talking now. Y’all had a good run as my favorite. The service was so poor that I don’t ever care to come back. My birthday dinner was lack luster because of the service. I’m in the industry and am beyond livid.

    Amy was amazing! From start to end she was very friendly and attentive. She gave great recommendations for our big table of ten and knew her stuff! The food tasted amazing and it was such a great dinner experience 10/10. I will be coming back!

    Our experience was very nice. The food was great, and our waiter's service was friendly and efficient, and he was particularly charming. I do wish that the wait staff was trained on how to correctly pronounce the items on the menu. For such a high-dollar restaurant touting authentic Italian food, that should be a prerequisite.

    Such a gem of a restaurant! We live here and have been to Vespaio many, many times. They do so much exceptionally well (service, ambiance, food). Areas of improvement: bread. Come on, that’s easy. The bread is just sub-par and while some may enjoy the white bean accompaniment, they should have a simple olive oil dip as an alternative. Perhaps a cheese board as well? Maybe an olive bowl appetizer to go with the bread? The other improvement is to have some really simple, clean, healthy entree options without all the butter and richness and spice. Just 2 or 3 entrees for the health-conscious diner.
