The term "gastropub" is actually a combination of the words pub (short for "public house") and gastronomy (the study of the relationship between culture and food).

Uptown Gastro is my go to place for drinks that are a little more than you’d get from most places. The bar staff are expert mixers and are great at recommending a new drink from the wide range on offer. We don’t often eat here but when we do, the food can’t be faulted. It’s more than your average pub grub. On this recent trip, I had one of the best steaks I have eaten.

Good food & wine. Lovely espresso martini! No table service at all Though? Not even water brought over! We were confused as the 2 menus we found online were not what was offered on the day Otherwise all good! Would dine here again.

The GastroPub is great. Great atmosphere, lots of seating, great menu, however one of our group ordered the Lamb Yiros which was really disappointing. The rest of us ordered the Chicken Burgers with chips which were incredible, and a selection of drinks. We'll be back, and would highly recommend.

Sadly this was the worst meal we have ever had at a restaurant. The seafood platter for two was overpriced for its size and overcooked. It lacked flavour and was drowned in oil. The ventilation was poor (no fans or aircon) and it was very u comfortable. We love to support local but we will not be going back.

We were at the “booths” with our kids and family, it’s now my favourite place, food is consistently good, kids love it, staff super friendly, fast service, lots of options including vegan.
