Translated from the Japanese word “home,” the original Uchi is located in a refurbished South Austin bungalow. Award-winning Chef Tyson Cole’s signature non-traditional take on Japanese food has delighted Austin’s diverse dining crowd as well as visitors from across the country and around the world since 2003. Reservations are encouraged and can be made up to 1 month in advance. Walk-in seating is limited to the Sushi Bar and is subject to wait times. Patio seating is weather permitting and may be rescheduled in the event of inclement weather. We look forward to serving you, Kanpai!

    First time to try the omakase menu and it was AMAZING! Every course delish and service was synchronized to perfection. Tried so many dishes that I never would have ordered since I typically stick to the fish. Please don’t skip dessert! This was a top 5 meal of all time for this 50-year old foodie! A++!!!

    I absolutely love this location. I’ve been here multiple times, but my partner hasn’t - so I jumped at the chance to make reservations while we were in town for a concert. Hannah was our server and she was phenomenal. No question felt silly to ask and her recommendations were top notch, especially the banana cake. Every item was fresh and you can literally taste, see and smell the thoughtfulness put into each dish. I know we will be back again. Thanks Uchi Austin!

    12/10 experience. Food: spectacular with intentional flavors. Service: top notch with consistent clean tables, full water, attentive staff, knowledgeable about menu. Ambiance: cozy and beautiful. They made my dinner so special celebrating a friend and I was blown away by the experience. Excited to return! Thank you so much

    The food and service is absolutely amazing. We went for Happy Hour which was a great value although in general it is an expensive place. Definitely worth it every now and then as a special treat.
