We recently visited Two Nine after hearing about it through the chef’s cousin in Hawaii—and I’m so glad we made the trip. I booked a reservation via OpenTable for Sunday at 5:30 PM, and while I initially thought we’d be ordering a la carte, we were pleasantly surprised to experience the full omakase instead. The moment we stepped inside, we were struck by the warm, intimate atmosphere. The space was thoughtfully designed to feel like home, and the light wood tones brought me right back to Japan and Okinawa. It felt both refined and personal. The omakase experience was incredible—19 curated courses, with 14–15 pieces of nigiri that were each beautifully balanced and full of flavor. Highlights included tako ashi, ishidai, shima aji, otoro, and many more, all enhanced with the chef’s custom sauces and subtle garnishes. Each dish was prepared with clear intention and technique, from the precise cuts to the torching and plating. What truly elevated the meal was the chef himself—his storytelling, passion, and dedication to his craft were evident in every course. He took time to explain the why behind each piece, which deepened our appreciation for the meal. And we absolutely loved his nigiri rice—it was perfectly seasoned and textured, and tied everything together in a way only a true sushi artisan can achieve. The menu changes almost daily, the fish was incredibly fresh, and the entire experience felt like a journey through the chef’s artistry. We will absolutely be back.

Delicious and impeccable service! The decor is calming, and almost feels like you’re in Tokyo the way it’s located on the 2nd floor in an alley. The staff and chef are friendly and warm yet extremely professional at the same time. The sushi is absolutely perfect and of course a work of art. Highly recommend!

The space is beautiful - invitingly cozy with modern accents. Excellent quality fish. We enjoyed dining from the a la carte menu. The king salmon, scallop, and live flounder fin were truly delicious and memorable.

Two Nine Omakase is a true gem in Georgetown. I came here to celebrate a dear friend’s milestone, and the entire evening was flawless from start to finish. Each course was beautifully composed and thoughtfully paced—standouts included the toro, uni, hotaru ika, and an incredibly charming turtle-shaped cream puff for dessert. Chef Zach and his team brought such warmth and artistry to the experience. You can feel the care in every detail, from the quality of the fish to the elegant presentation and genuine hospitality. It was intimate, soulful, and absolutely delicious. A perfect place for a special occasion—or anytime you want to be reminded why dining out can be such a joy. Highly recommend!

My visit happened to be second day from opening. So obviously they need one or two months practice to settle in this new place and sushi only gets better in time for sure. Price point is right compared with Omakase@Barrack and Kiyomi in the city. Good location, I meant finally Georgetown got Omakase option.
