   The food was actually exceptional. Chef knew what he was doing from start to finish. We were full but even the pork belly he made was solid after we got home and i warmed it up at midnight

   We ate at this restaurant twice, excellent food. The second time it was busier we had to wait longer for our food, the food wasn’t quite as good as our first experience. I would rate the food a 10++ the first time and a 9.5 out of ten the second time. I had the sea bass both times, it was excellent. Just a touch dry the second time but still delicious.

   Amazing food and unique drinks. You definitely need a reservation since there are limited tables. One of the best meals in Costa Rica.

   Outstanding secret space eating local elevated cuisine and cocktails. We made had a lovely table in their space. The cocktails and their presentation did not disappoint. One of our diners does not drink alcohol and she ordered a fresh juice and they even delivered with presentation of the juice! We had smiles all around the table! The creative sauces and ingredients were scrumptious! I am vegetarian and the avocado and gazpacho dish satisfied me heartily while being light. The grandmas dessert special with squash ice cream and all sorts of berries, sauces and toasted pumpkin seeds was divine!

   I almost never leave reviews, but DAMN does this place deserve it. Tropic was incredible. My wife and I stumbled upon this gem while in Tamarindo and had one of the best meals of our life. I wouldn’t call us foodies, but we’ve been lucky enough to visit multiple Michelin star restaurants and eaten at multiple top 25 restaurants in the world. Not a single one of those had food that was any better than what we had at Tropic. The plates are delicious, beautiful arranged, and served with delicious cocktails that unique and beautifully presented. The ambiance is awesome. For us, it felt quaint and romantic, but not too dark or quiet. It was casual, but not too casual. True restaurant kept seating limited with only a handful of tables that were well spaced. We didn’t feel like we were sitting on top of our neighbors and couldn’t hear their conversation. The guys running it are kind, welcoming, attentive, and knowledgeable. OpenTable shows it as a 5 course meal. You do not have to do a tasting menu. You can order off a normal menu, which is what we did with our servers guidance. Give tropic a shot. It’s worth every penny.

    Had a preset New Year’s eve dinner - was awesome! Creative and thoughtful food. 2 in my party were vegetarian and they accommodated very nicely. Setting is cool inside a little private patio.
