Chef-owner, Giuseppe Naccarelli presents a seasonally inspired menu of classic Italian dishes with a modern twist, influenced by the cuisine of his native region of Abruzzo.
A Trabocco is a unique fishing pier found along the Adriatic coast of Abruzzo. With its reclaimed wood ceilings, dramatic copper encased fireplace, and modern bar Trabocco is warm and welcoming yet strikingly dramatic and modern.

My cousin from out of town came to visit. She thought we were going to another nearby Italian place. I mentioned Trabocco which I have gone to in many special occasions. I checked availability on Open Table & found at the moment choices. We arrived & were immediately seated. As in other occasions the owner waved hello and was a welcome sight. Service was great & personable. I will be back soon and make any visit a special occasion because the people there make me feel that way!

This place is a Bay Area treasure. Don't let the mall location fool you, the interior feels like a downtown SF hotspot. OK, so maybe the crowd skews a little older. Food and service are top-notch. It's a can't-miss in Alameda and the East Bay.

It was fantastic, we had a great time. The food was excellent and they accommodated us. Since we became early. They let us sit on the patio, which was great and gave a birthday surprise at the end.

We went for the dining about town for Alameda. Ordered pre fix special, and thoroughly unimpressed. Regular menu seems much better. Portions were small and very little artistry.

Huge fan of Trabocco, many times my family and I have dined here for special occasions or just because. Food is always a delite and ambience is lovely. Great couple options for mocktails that are very tasty. Tiramisu is standard but still yummy. Reservations are always a good idea but they’re great about walk ins as well.

We went here during Alameda restaurant week and got their price fixe menu: 5 courses for $75. Every dish was amazing and our waiter was funny in that old school Italian way. Wines by the Glass were very reasonable. My partner felt like the cannoli could have been a little bigger, even though we were pleasantly full at that point haha We felt it was money well spent. Btw the place was packed at 6 pm. An Alameda institution.

No one creates a better octopus dish that Guiseppe at Trabacco! It is one of my “go to” dishes!

The food, as always was fantastic. Our waitress, Greta, made our evening even better with her sincere dedication to her profession; you should most certainly dine here.

This was my second time at this restaurant, and I was very pleasantly surprised. We checked in and were seated within 1 minute. Making a reservation is a must, there is nothing like having that peace of mind. The drink menu is extensive, it has a table of contents, so that should tell you everything you need to know! I got an Old Fashioned and it was made appropriately and served very quickly after I ordered it. Our server was on point. Every special menu item was described in detail. We ordered one simply because of the precise description. We ordered the oxtail ravioli, lasagna, short rib with risotto, green salad and green beans. The server listened to the order, repeated it back and then asked the kitchen to course it out for us (as opposed to sending out all the food at once). That was a nice touch. The salad came out first and it was simple and tasty. Fresh greens on a plate. It’s the type of salad you need to use bread to scoop toward your fork because the greens that were served were tender. That lasagna was super good. I didn’t have any expectations coming in, but this was great. I would go back just for that dish alone. Honestly, I’d order a family size portion of that just to have seconds, and thirds. It was that good. The ravioli was savory and delicious. Props to the chef for combining two of my personal favorites into one dish. The pasta was fresh. You could tell by the mouthfeel. The last course we had was the short rib, risotto and the green beans. The lemon zest on the beans was a nice touch. Alycia said that was the dish that surprised her the most. The risotto had a good rosemary hit. I do wish that the risotto was just a tad more creamy, but the mushrooms really added the right moisture. The short rib was good and very well prepared, it could have used slightly more seasoning. The sauce was hella good and balanced the dish out. The food was a great vehicle for a very important conversation with my daughter. I recommend this spot!
