Burma (modernized name - Myanmar) is a Southeast Asian country about the size of Texas, tucked between India and China, is a home to various ethnic tribes, a melting pot of beautiful cultures. When it comes to taste-buds tingling cuisines, Burma has a lot to offer. It has been a passionate dream for Burma-born owners Kalvin and Poe to open a Burmese restaurant to be able to share their culinary culture. That dream came true in 2019 when Top Burmese opened as a virtual takeout only restaurant from a commissary kitchen in NW Portland. Due to its authenticity, made to order, home-style cooking, and Burmese hospitality, Top Burmese traditional and modern Burmese dishes became so popular effectively evangelizing the masses to become Burmese Food fans. 7 of us from 3 months old to 75 celebrated a birthday dinner with amazing food. We had a 5:30 PM reservation so the restaurant was quiet. Our server, Indigo, took our order right away and the food came within minutes, family style as we requested so we could share many dishes. We enjoyed everything we tried, especially the Khao Soi, tea leaf salad and chickpea tofu curry. We share one Joy Kyaw for dessert--wonderful flavor in a jelly cream texture we'd never before experienced.

Service was good and robots were fun, but horrible muzak playing and since pretty empty at lunchtime, atmosphere had a particularly dull vibe - in spite of nice decor. Food was bland, but plentiful. Recommend Hillsboro location because it is more lively (but go for dinner, not lunch).

The service and place was nice but the food was not good. I’ve had Burke food many times. It was salty in most of the curry dishes. The tea leaf salad had way too much dressing and that killed the lightness of a salad. Would not go back or recommend.

The food was ok. Not great. Beef was tough. None of the dishes had wonderful flavor. Chicken curry was dry. Not terrible but a bit disappointing. Service was good and the ambience was nice.
