Officially named The Walrus Oyster & Ale House, inspired by the Lewis Carroll poem The Walrus and The Carpenter. The restaurant offers local, moderately priced, eastern shore style seafood and a vibrant Shucking Bar. Count on The Walrus “fun” factor to complement the food with an over-sized, industrial strength bar featuring cocktails designed by Kris Carr, 14 tap beers, tap wines and colorful, massive frozen drinks for those warm, sunny days. The restaurant boasts a 90-seat patio with beautiful water views of the Potomac and nearby Old Town Alexandria. Open 7 days a week for lunch and dinner. Brunch served Sunday from 10am - 3pm. Happy Hour offered Monday through Friday from 3:00pm - 6:00pm. The Walrus is also available for private and semi private events.

Memorial Day & I was alone enjoying the atmosphere. Sat at the bar and had a few beers and some oysters. Great food and terrific service. I will return without hesitation...

Salad was made of old, pink wilting lettuce. Water used in iced tea tasted like it came from a river. My entree didn't taste great. A waste of money at $40 for all three.

Parking is always a bit challenging, but park in the parking deck and it's a quick, but enjoyable walk to the restaurant. The oysters were very fresh, and delicious. They have a great oyster hot sauce. My wife got the fish and chip...wonderful...I got the seafood bake...comes in a pot and was very tasty...Beer was good, and the atmosphere is great.... Would look at changing the seating for two, a tad bit crowded, especially when dinner arrives.

The service was terrific. The food was very fresh and tasty and the waitress honored our special requests. I would recommend dining here for a casual dining experience.

Fun place with a nice variety of seafood. The hot mulled cider with a shot of tequila took the edge off a cold night!

Service was amazing! The fried calamari was sheer perfection. We also had the crabcakes which were awesome and the meatloaf which was good. Would definitely return.
