Welcome to casual waterfront dining at its best. Yes, we have a stunning waterfront location overlooking the Currituck Sound, but our goal is to be a great restaurant that just happens to have a great view. From casual, familiar fare to elevated, creative originals, we offer something for everyone.     Village Table and Tavern is our favorite restaurant on the OBX. We visit for dinner every time we go to our beach house. This visit was for a special occasion, New Year's Eve, but we are just as likely to go there for a casual week night meal. Tonight provided the best sunset on Currituck Sound, along with a superbly prepared three course meal, accompanied by glasses of "bubbly". John, the owner, was making the rounds and greeting everyone, making us feel welcome. it was a great way to begin the new year...and the nice thing is, our favorite neighborhood restaurant is open all winter..unusual for the OBX, but John cares about his regular customers.

    Our waiter was nice and the restaurant was pretty, but unfortunately our meals were just awful. 4 of us dined and no one liked a single dish - they ranged from bland to inedible. There were other small details that also fell short. The water had an off-putting smell and taste, and for the price of the entrees, it should include a side salad or bread or something. We won’t be back.
