   Food was nice and very innovative cocktail menu. Atmosphere was great although they kept cranking up the speaker that was right next to our table. Didn’t feel like they were reading the vibe of romantic Valentine’s Day. Service was pretty bad. Server was nice but clearly overwhelmed. Never asked if we’d like another round of drinks. Had to physically go up and ask him for our bill (he had his back to us for an extended time) and then still wait another 10-15 mins to get it. I suspect this will get better with more practice. We’ll try again after they’ve established their routine a bit better.

   My bf and I went over last night for DineLA. Overall it was a great experience, definitely a cute spot - Instagrammable worthy. Now, let’s get into the food! Their queso fondo is to die for - It’s delicious. Next was the coconut ceviche; it’s a great alternative for those who don’t like seafood/ vegetarian but would like to know what ceviche is/tastes like. The next main dish was the Baja Taco - don’t get me wrong, it was good but for the size I wouldn’t pay $7 (like I said it was good, not great). Lastly, I’m the type of person that enjoys hearing from my server and getting their opinions on item(s) our server spoke to us once, I could tell he didn’t really want to interact, didn’t check on us and during checkout tips were set at 18%, 20% and 22%. Personally I would have tipped 15% due to the lack of interaction but I hate changing the tip to custom - I tipped 18%. But regardless I will be back - loved the vibe, food and how fast the food came out.

   Loved the food and ambiance! The service was quite slow to begin with; ~20 minute before we were checked on. Once the food started coming it was more timely, though. Good vibes and even better food!

   Unlike most Jose Andres restaurants, Butterfly’s menu is very limited. This is probably due to the small space - maybe 60 seats…

   Booked the reservation for a birthday lunch. The outdoor patio was very nice and our server, Dana, was great! He was very attentive & gave us suggestions about the food including informing us of the more spicy choices on the menu which was great. We decided to do the DineLA menu in order to taste a sampling of the food. Tacos & ceviche were excellent! We even ordered extra tacos as they were tasty. One of us tried the Saltair Margarita and it was delish. The vibe was good & we even chatted briefly with Brett (the Assistant GM). He was so nice. Weather was overcast but they have heat lamps. Can't wait to return in the future on a nice sunny day.

   The food is every bit as good as you should expect from a Jose Andres project. Good value, too. The only significant negative is they don't validate for parking at the hotel which charges an outrageous amount for Culver City.

   I’ve participated in DineLA for 10+ years so I’m familiar with the program. In all these years, I have never seen the main course portions to be so small (one tiny fish taco per person). Service was friendly but inconsistent. The 2nd course was served while we were still eating the first. There were 4 of us and for some reason, they served 2 people’s queso fundido appetizer in the same skillet. Finally, we had to wait a long time for the bill, even after asking twice.
