The Restaurant at Drakes is an elegantly stylish setting for any occasion. Subtle lighting casts moody shadows across exposed brickwork and rich colours throughout the intimate dining room while Drakes’ cocktail bar offers airy sea views and excellent cocktails. The kitchen team insist on the best of ingredients, fresh and seasonal, including fish bought daily from local fishing boats, to create the excellent, refined menu that has earned the restaurant two AA rosettes. A special place, unpretentious in its warm atmosphere, it’s easy to see why The Restaurant at Drakes has such a reputation.

Very quiet due to corona pandemic. Waiters were rather concerned as in zero hours contract and the restaurant were letting them go after 5 years service and no redundancy. I’m hoping the government actions help them. Food was good but not fantastic. But expensive for what it was.

Beautiful setting and food was perfect for a birthday celebration . The special birthday plate after dessert was enjoyed by us all.

Wow wow wow! What a find. This restaurant and hotel is a hidden treasure in Brighton and Hove. The menu, service, food and wine is exceptional. Choose the taster menu. Choose amazing wines- paired or not - you will not be disappointed. This is a very special place and I will make sure this is a firm favourite and somewhere I will return to again and again.

Outstanding experience at the Drakes. The food was excellent overall with beautiful presentation, great execution and healthy combination of food options. Service was friendly and punctual. Wine list was limited but with enough options. I will certainly recommend this place.

food was superb for the price, they allowed our 4 year old to dine with us, no stringent dress code (we were tourists! ) and friendly staff. it was our most memorable event in Brighton and a great mother’s day gift (american mother’s day date)

The staff, atmosphere and food were all excellent. We were a family of 4 with young boys aged 12 and 10. Upon booking the staff advised that the chef would happily prepare simpler food if required, this was a nice gesture, but wasn't necessary. The staff and children interaction was very pleasant!
