Since welcoming its first guests in 1773, The Red Lion Inn has earned a reputation for outstanding food and genuine country hospitality. Those traditions are continued today by Executive Chef Jon Sterrett, whose kitchen features contemporary cuisine that is rooted in the region's history and harvests. Emphasizing the use of fresh, local ingredients and a huge proponent of buying locally and sustaining the region, Chef Sterrett regularly updates the Inn's menus to reflect the bounty of each season. Guests choose from the elegant Main Dining Room and the cozy Widow Bingham's Tavern. The wine list offers 500 plus selections, and has received the Wine Spectator best of Award of Excellence for ten consecutive years; Sommelier Tim Eustis helps pair wines with meals. If you would like to dine in the Tavern, please choose Bar when making your reservation.
There is ample parking behind the Inn, but guests may also park out front (no overnight parking on Main Street in the winter!).

The red lion inn has a main restaurant, and a bar that serves a pub menu. You can sit at the main tables and choose between both menus.( Just ask your server for both menus) Also, they have kids menus that are really affordable and have pretty much anything kids would eat on them.
My 12 y..o is a picky eater and had no problem with breakafast lunch and dinner at red lion inn

Ambiance was perfect, crowds have cleared out. Dinner was not rushed. Waiter was very friendly and accommodated our children. The food was very good. I had lunch the day before in the tavern, we did not care for sitting in there. It’s a constant flow of people walking through to get to the hallway of the inn.

Had dinner 2 nights in a row, Feb 17 and 18 while staying in the area. Food was delicious and the service (Ashley / Nathan) both times was excellent. We had the codfish and buccatini specials, the roast turkey dinner and lobster roll. All were great. Their house chardonnay is served chilled and is perfect. We'll definitely return in the future.

Love the old-fashioned vibe of the Inn and dining areas. Service was very attentive. Food was simple. Flavors were good and ordinary, not amazing and unique. Ambiance made it very enjoyable.
