The Dining Room is an elevated cuisine experience that overlooks Central Park, with a focus on local and seasonal ingredients. We locally source our ingredients from farms within a 150-mile radius of The Met. Entrance to the Museum and The Met Dining Room requires a ticket or Membership card.                                                         Great lunch today…..beautiful presentation and delicious. Yellowtail tuna, Roasted and glazed duck breast and a Hazelnut/chocolate cake. Portions were large enough that two of us shared the meal. Our server Michael is warm and friendly. Always happy to see him.

                                                        The Met Dining Room is a true gem. Peaceful and very enjoyable respite, whether you’re strolling through the museum or go to the restaurant as your destination. Lovely Fall lunch, terrific view out the fab floor to ceiling windows. Been there multiple times, always good, but this was the best. Front of house always welcoming. Our server Evelyn was charming and very knowledgeable. Crab cakes, butternut squash bisque, tender as butter root beer (don’t let that scare you) short ribs, and foie gras torchon - all standouts. Cocktails amazing - especially the margarita with a whisper of cranberry. And terrific butterflake rolls (for which you are not charged). Give a toast with a couple of glasses of Prosecco and you will walk out saying “I’m never leaving NYC.”

                                                        To gather with friends who live outside the city for the excellence of the exhibits at the Met and then to enjoy a "ladies' lunch" in the Fourth Floor Members' Dining Room is the ingredients for a memorable visit together. From the moment one is welcomed by the Maitre 'D' , through competent, courteous, and friendly interaction with the waiter and servers, the ambience of the restaurant was established. The menu included a cornucopia of possibilities served in intriguing forms; such as, the pumpkin risotto in an actual pumpkin! The desert menu alone would have enticed and the wines we chose were excellent. To add to all this is the view of Central Park. While dining one is reminded of the beauty of New York City, minus the noise and bustle of people.
