Our locally sourced food, innovative seasonal menus and friendly and attentive service have earned us our reputation as one of the best independent pubs in Staffordshire.
We are renowned for our selection of contemporary and traditional ales and craft beers, our hand-picked wines, and extensive selection of gin and cocktails.
If that seems too much to get through in a day then we recommend booking one of our cosy hotel rooms, which have been sympathetically refurbished to evoke the original Georgian coaching inn while providing all the comforts of a modern hotel.

    Had breakfast here today as start to 80th birthday celebration. Can’t fault it. Fire going Xmas tree decorated, what’s not to love. Ambience was fab - guy who served us was great. Food was fine. Thoroughly enjoyable start to the day.

    Great food , little steady on service but was very busy being new yrs eve. Felt a little rushed at end of meal as they wanted the table for next sitting which wasn’t our fault but they did find us another table to sit at to have a few drinks . Strange thing was it was another table for four so why the people waiting couldn’t have had that table god knows . Anyhow didn’t spoil our night and will go again for sure as food was very good.
