The Hillside is a charming, rustic pub situated in the historic Georgian village of Hillsborough, County Down, only 15 minutes drive from Belfast city centre. The Hillside first opened its doors to patrons in 1752 and has been enjoying a busy trade ever since thanks to our excellent food and drinks selection and our friendly, welcoming service. We are renowned for our roaring open fires in the winter and our pretty cobble stoned beer garden in the summer.

    Nice place and staff very good although think they were understaffed. We ordered battered fish and couldn't believe the size of it when it arrived. It was tiny. A toddler would have finished it no bother. The curry sauce wasn't nice either. We left and went for snacks as still hungry and I'm normally full after being out for meal. To be honest, I wish we had just gone for a fish and chip from the chippy. It would have been filling and value for money

    Food normally at the hillside is very good, we both had haddock have to say very small haddock not the normal. Fish may on a diet that night

    Booked for Sunday roast (table for 4 adults) and was not disappointed. Quality of food, portion size and service were all exceptional. Cosy Sunday afternoon atmosphere. The Hillside delivers perfectly every time!

    Stunning from the moment we walked in, friendly staff great feeling. Food and service was amazing and for what we got the price was great value.

    Good food at a decent price but unfortunately service has let them down significantly. Waited 40 minutes before our order was taken and then just shy of another hour before food arrived. One meal was forgotten so arrived even later. Had to repeat orders for drinks as staff repeatedly forgot to bring orders to the table.
