   Overall an enjoyable evening service and food were good although the meatball starters were burnt in the bottom perhaps left on a hot plate to long , the bread and oil was a bit skimpy two slices of a thinish bread both probably not worth the price charged . Three of us dined two fillet steaks asked for medium rare both were medium although no complaints with the steak which was good and one salmon in a champagne sauce which was very good . The chips and salads that accompanied the meals were good and overall we had an enjoyable meal and evening and will most definitely return

   Food was ok. Starter of bread and olives was just two small slices of baguette for £5 which was a little bit of a shock. On my chicken main the rosemary potatoes were very bland and had no salt seasoning. As a whole it was a very anti- climax evening, spending £70 in total on two people for small starters and one main each we left disappointed.

   Visited The Gate this evening with my family for my brother birthday. We all really enjoyed our food, definitely quality and value for money! Staff were lovely and very welcoming. Overall great experience and would recommend to anyone!
