Welcome to The Consulate!
Located on the Upper West Side, the restaurant features a French American menu which includes brunch favorites; blueberry cast iron pancakes, classic eggs benedict and beet and gin cured salmon. Despite the service and waiting for the food and then for the next course in the following course, we finished our meal and we’re given a check. I paid the check with a credit card and was given a receipt complete with a tip. My guest and I were leaving the restaurant when we were accosted by some lady claiming to be a manager handing me another check, which was supposedly mine. She said I did not pay properly. I pulled out my receipt which was correct, and then she backed down. However, that did not excuse Her or my embarrassment in front of my guest. I have been eating at consulate for years and years. I have never experienced anything like this when the owners were present

The food and service were great but the noise level was deafening. The excruciating noise made the experience terrible and we will not return.

The waitress was okay…not amazing! We live in the area and the servers always seem to be rushed not paying special attention to excellent service. The prices are fair market for the Upper Westside.

Stupendous dinner tonight with the restaurant week menu. The lamb shops were grilled with woodear mushrooms - insanely delicious! Who knew? Also loved the Consulate old fashioned, done with a bit of mezcal. Nom, nom!
