   Yet again, with friends, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at The Chequers. The food, staff, and service were excellent, and the ambience is that of our finest country pubs. We look forward to our next visit.

   Food as always was excellent. Very reliable cooking. The reason I gave a two star for ambience was that we were on a table surrounded by diners with dogs. Three tables each with two dogs. Fine if you like dogs not so good when they start barking.

   First visit after many years. The food was outstanding, beautifully served and made with passion. I loved the plates, the attention to detail and the menu was mouthwatering making it hard to choose from! The only thing that let it down was very slow service by waiting staff that didn’t match the passion of the excellent food. We will definitely return.

    Nice to come on a Saturday lunchtime and experience a wider menu. Appetisers were delicious, main courses scrumptious and deserts define! Great service so everything fell into place for an excellent lunch with family.
