   Lovely pub, cosy with a lovely open fire and wood burner. Delicious food, the pork belly was delicious! Great service, special thanks to Jason and his amazing margaritas! Lovely start to Christmas, thank you!

   We managed to snag a last minute reservation for Sunday lunch at the Chequers in Fingest. We had a fantastic lunch with excellent food and really good service. We would highly recommend the Chequers to anyone.

   Very nice lunch, despite an electrical problem in the kitchen, which we had been warned about earlier. The service was excellent, prompt and polite. We have been here a number of times over the years and will definitely return.

   Lovely pub with great food. It is a bit out of the way if you don't know where you're going, but a good find. We shared the haggis bon bons & the squid to start with. Never had haggis with apple sauce but it worked. Then both had the beef & game pie which was very tasty and great pastry and came with red cabbage. We ordered 2 portions of chips to have with the pie as we were both hungry, but reality with a starter then one portion would have been plenty! Definitely no room for pudding! The guys running the place were very pleasant and helpful and it was warm - we ate in the bar. The toilets were clean (ladies) - the men's weren't used. We would go back.

   We had a beautiful Roast Beef lunch which was ‘to die for’! This was our first visit and certainly will not be our last!!!

   In my opinion best pub in the area, friendly and authenticate staff, great food, perfect ambience and good size portions. Perfect pub for a walk and a Roast!
