   What an incredible gift to the vegetarian/vegan community! I had a dear friend in town who, due to a serious medical condition, is vegan. She was over the MOON to be able to enjoy a delicious, safe meal and dessert she didn't have to cook herself. The joy and relief on her face were overwhelming, and deeply affecting. Dietary restrictions can be challenging, and The Butcher's Daughter does a great service in their choice of menu and the quality of their cooking. Also: outdoor shed is delightful and the staff were uniformly kind, well-informed and helpful.

   food is yummy & healthy! atmosphere of the restaurant is energetic but not noisy. the place is located in west village, great neighborhood for a relaxing stroll. perfect spot for wknd cleansing brunch!

   My wife is a vegetarian and occasionally vegan. I found this restaurant for her so she could have something that was suited entirely to her liking and not a ‘compromise’. We were both amazed just how great the brunch food was. Didn’t miss the meat whatsoever nor the diary. The ambience was really great and the service fantastic too. We took our 6month old baby with us and he wasn’t disturbed at all. When we’re back visiting NYC we’ll definitely make plans to drop in again.

   Overall, kitchen and service is pretty solid. Noise level is pretty loud but not cacophonous. It was a gorgeous early autumn day so the glass doors were open and there was a great breeze and lovely sunlight which added to the whole experience.

    The food was fresh and well cooked. Some of the vegan/vegetarian dishes were not good. The chocolate cake with passion fruit coulis was not good: dry, it disintegrated and it tasted like pure cacao powder. The lemon and grape tart was grainy and cold ( they could have warmed it up to disguise the fact it was old). The tomato scallion scone was heavy and dense. Did they forget to add baking powder? It was for sure not a scone. The place is mainstream. Nothing special.
