A picturesque stone built Inn and restaurant in the beautiful Cotswolds. The Boxing Hare is located a few miles outside Chipping Norton on the Banbury Road. A former Masonic Lodge, it is now a privately owned pub/restaurant serving high quality food with integrity in a relaxed, welcoming environment. Wherever possible, our food is locally sourced with Long Horn beef aged on the premises, a ﬁrm favourite. With stone built walls, wood beams and a glorious lawned garden for al fresco dining. The Boxing Hare has a modern rustic charm, where everyone is welcome. Re-united after 30 years, Antony Grifﬁth Harris (London Restaurateur) and Nick Anderson , (2 Michelin stars) along with their partners and manager Sebastian (Seabass) Speke have bought new life to this Cotswold favourite.

The Boxing Hare was very friendly with friendly locals lovely helpful staff who explained certain aspects of the menu, helped my very fussy 84 year old Dad and according to my Dad kept a good pint...... what more can you want the food was hot tasty and plentiful, they served amazing bread cooked n their premises so fresh so tasty "lovely"

The food was excellent but we probably won’t go back unless we hear the service has improved. Our table was booked for 7.15pm and we waited an hour before our order was taken and then another hour before our food arrived. To be fair, some of our party arrived 15 minutes late and we apologised as we know this can cause problems for the staff. However, we would have appreciated an explanation or apology for the delay. By the time our dessert menu came we all felt it was too late to eat one so we didn’t order any. It was a shame as we all agreed the food was excellent.

Food was really good. Front of house was in a bit of a mess on the day unfortunately. Assuming they were just a bit short on staff though.

Very enjoyable meal the twice cooked cheese soufflé was amazing as was the fish soup- it’s hard to impress my husband and he said he would go back just for the soup ! Loved the Chilean merlot very mellow.

The service was exceptional and there were some interesting items on the menu that tempted us to order something new and different. The quality and presentation of the food was very good and pretty quick considering it was a busy Friday night. It was quite noisy at times due to a party of men on the next table but we would definitely recommend the Boxing Hare and will be going again for a special occasion.
