Could have been an off day, but I found the serving size very small and the quality of the prawns not great, no flavour and a bit limp. The focaccia was nice and fresh and the views were stunning looking over Brisbsbe Water. Overall, we all agreed that the food was pretty average. The staff did look after my dietary requirements very well though, thank you.

I thought the menu was quite limited and very expensive, I understand your right on the water but can't see the prices are justified. Small plates are exactly that. Also I don't go to expensive restaurants to sit next to dogs.

Always great ambience, friendly staff and the food never ever lets you down. Had a wonderful stormy evening enjoying Kingfish Ceviche, Duck Liver Pate followed by a 300 gram medium rare Bavette Steak and a Cauliflower Steak with a raft of delicious sides and a bottle of Mornington Peninsula Pinot Gris! Kids loved their pasta and fish n chips.

We had a fabulous Christmas get together here on Saturday at the very busy pre Christmas weekend. Food and service were excellent as always. We come here numerous times each year and are never disappointed.

We had a great view of the inlet, quick service, great tasting food, not excessively busy with people but full enough to have a good vibe about it. We have been before, and will definitely come again.

Box on the Water remains unbeatable for value-& that view! The pate, fish & chips-& salad- are our ‘go to’ lunch-easily shareable, served with a smile, & enjoyed in front of a world class view. Our only (slight) regrets-it’s not open-at least once or twice a week-for breakfast-and the menu doesn’t offer a tender steak frites option ( the bavatte’s a bit chewy for us). But it still makes us once a week regulars.
